, you can use the installation download to uninstall the product if you have trouble doing it with the Windows Control Panel. There is also a link to a removal tool, if that doesn't work.
I had to do similar gyrations to get Norton off my machines. Anti-Virus programs tend to be resistant to easy removal, and I suppose that's for a reason....

IIRC, AVG is a complete scam. I wouldn’t go to their website and download anything there.
