SWEDEN'S largest toy chain "gender neutral" after picturing boys holding baby dolls and banishing girls from the dolls pages of its Christmas catalogue. Digital Pass - $5 weekend papers
"For several years, we have found that the gender debate has grown so strong in the Swedish market that we ... have had to adjust," Jan Nyberg, director of sales at Top Toy, franchise-holder for US toy chain Toys R Us, said.
The country's advertising watchdog reprimanded the company for gender discrimination three years ago following complaints over outdated gender roles in the 2008 Christmas catalogue, which featured boys dressed as superheroes and girls playing princess.
A comparison between this year's Toys R Us catalogues in Sweden and Denmark, where Top Toy is also the franchisee, showed that a boy wielding a toy machine gun in the Danish edition had been replaced by a girl in Sweden.
Elsewhere, a girl was Photoshopped out of the "Hello Kitty" page, a girl holding a baby doll was replaced by a boy, and, in sister chain BR's catalogue, a young girl's pink T-shirt was turned light blue.
Top Toy, Sweden's largest toy retailer by number of stores, said it had received "training and guidance" from the Swedish advertising watchdog, which is a self-regulatory agency.

I want my Barbie Doll ping.
What do you think of That Sweden?
A testimony to the folly of leftwing androgyne metrosexuals.
Look at how intolerant they are of anything NORMAL
A GIRL was holding a toy machine gun? More interestingly, why is it that BOYS were pictured holding a toy machine gun? Isn’t that altogether forbidden?
Boys are not even allowed to point their forefingers “pistol style” and say “bang, bang, you’re dead!” any more.
That makes up a large part of what it is to be ten years old.
What? No Chuck Norris?
The Muslims will be laughing as they line them up for beheadings!
It’s funny how hardwired gender behavior is. My five year old daughter asked me to play with her and her toy dinosaurs. “OK, the dinosaurs are going to have a war” I said.
“No Daddy, the dinosaurs are going to have a wedding” she said.
Only libtards believe that girls playing princess and boys playing with guns and trucks are outdated gender stereotypes. this is how it naturally is for almost all boys and girls.
as i have said before, libtards are perpetually unhappy and unable to be appeased because the root of their liberalness is that they are unhappy with the natural order of things, and they are in rebellion against all things natural.
ruger 10/22 can get a pink stock for it.
Is that Hello Kitty AR for real? My daughter would love one. She is a shooter for real and loves her camo but would love a cool toy like that.
We got studio pictures when our daughter was one year old and my wife insisted in buying all the shots so it was kind of expensive.
Recently our little girl turned three and my wife insisted on more studio pictures, so I said OK but don’t order all the pictures again. Of course she did.
I emailed a dozen places hoping to make some money back and last week Spiele Max (a big toy store chain) contacted us to hire our daughter for their next catalogue. :)
Sadly I don't know were to get one though, my daughters would love a .22 in My Little Pony.
Actually that is the “Goodbye Kitty” edition. (^;
But can you reassemble it under 15 seconds, soldier?!
Actually it's Airman, But yes I can.
Apologies. Just quoting some otherwise long-forgotten movie or something.
You can paint that AR with Duracoat epoxy paint.
Then make waterslide decal with decal paper you can use in an inkjet printer. Place it on the stock and paint over it with a clear coat of Duracoat paint.
As a little girl, I had more than my share of cap pistols, all of them very realistic. Had dolls and stuffed toys too. Neither one hurt me a bit. But forcing parents and kids on the subject is different!
