obsessive use of obscene or foul language
Origin:
1886, from Fr. coprolalie, coined by de la Tourette, 1885, from copro- "dung, filth" + Gk. lalia lalia "talk, prattle, a speaking," from lalein "to speak, prattle," of echoic origin. The obsessive use of obscene language, either through mental illness or perversion.

My objection to coprolalia and those consumed by it is that it seems to be a substitute for doing the work of acquiring an actual functional vocabulary; the very antithesis of what we’re trying to accomplish with this thread.
