REASONS WHY LOS ANGELES IS THE WORST PLACE EVER

I recently moved from London to Los Angeles. Despite the fact that LA is the undisputed worst place in the entire world, I've been trying super hard to like it. Mainly because I like being that guy who likes the thing everyone else hates just to annoy people (which reminds me, people I know in real life: I never really liked Skrillex or Twilight. You should've seen your faces though).

London is superior to LA? Oh, yeah?

Good burritos are to be found all around Los Angeles--at Chano's, El Tepeyac, Los Burritos, the El Coyote Cafe, Lucy's El Adobe, King Taco, etc. I'll bet you can't even find a burrito in all of London. And it's a safe bet that nowhere in London can one find a pastrami sandwich that can hold a candle to the ones available at Langer's Delicatessen, across from MacArthur Park.

That pretty much defines why I left CA and returned to the East Coast (tho not NYC).

I was born and raised in the LA ‘burbs. I remember LA before the freeways.

Moved out of there in the ‘70’s. Would not move back for all the riches in the world.

“Just another nasty mouthed brit who likes to rank on everything. Take a hike.”

Jaimie Lee Curtis Taete, daughter of Tony Curtis, is a talented American actress. She is married to a Brit.

Why not move to the suburbs then? There are lots of nice places around the Los Angeles area within driving distance.

One suburb that I would recommend is centrally located--in fact, it's nickname is the Hub City. It's served by two freeways and is only about 15 miles from downtown Los Angeles. It's also fairly close to the airport and the beaches, and the amusement parks of Orange County are just down the freeway.

This is a quaint college town that sports a community college, with a big state university just outside the city limits. For those seeking additional learning opportunities, USC and Long Beach State are only about 10 miles away, while UCLA is just a bit further.

The community is proud to have been the home of two US presidents--George H. W. and George W. Bush. When she was living there, First Lady Barbara Bush even described the town as "lovely."

The name of this town? Compton.

I had to deliver Otis Spunkmeyer cookies to one Korean liquor store in Compton in 1999 and to the South Central L.A. U.S. Postal Megaplex. It always surprised me how the populace goes from all-white south of CSULB to all-black to the north.

What, no roommates sleeping on the couch, in the fridge and in the oven? Sounds like she’s hardly had the young NYer experience!

LA was the greatest place to live when..... Reagan was governor Yorty was mayor ,p> Dornan was congressman

Parker and later Gates were the police chiefs.

The liberals ruin everything they touch. LA is no exception. Villaraigosa has turned the place into a gigantic slum.

Indeed, LA was a wonderful place when Mayor Sam ran the show.

I always said that LA is the first place I want to be and the last place I want to live.

My aunt grew up in Compton. At the time, it was an agricultural community surrounded by dairy farms. The Long Beach Earthquake of March 10, 1933 hit the town hard and sent her fleeing to Santa Ana Canyon, where there was less danger of an aftershock. There, she met my uncle. Their marriage lasted 62 years.

Dr. Demento used to play that on his radio show.

Well, you don’t move to London for the Mexican food (thank God) or because of the pastrami. In fact, in the tourist area pubs they have signs that read: “Salt beef is NOT pastrami.” But if you want to see the greatest of theatre, London is for me!

(On the other hand, the author of this tripe doesn’t like L.A. improv comedy. Where does she think all the great American comics come from??)

Jamie Lee Curtis is married to Christopher Guest - British born but living in America. I doubt very much that she would dislike improv comedy since Guest is a master of the genre.

We used to go for lunch in East Los Angeles, to eat at “El Tepeyac.” First timers would be told they got their lunch free, if they ate the “Manuel’s Special” burrito.

A few tried, but none succeeded.

I believe the percent of the population which is Hispanic is higher in San Antonio TX and in Santa Ana CA, than in Lost Angeles.

I feel far safer behind the Orange Curtain in the OC.
