A dog can always lose a collar, but in this case - the guy should have taken it to a vet to see if the dog was chipped.
What did he do - just hand the dog over to some stranger? Why doesn't he know who he gave or sold the dog to?
I have two mini dachshunds & would be broken hearted if one of my little ones got lost. They are fun loving little clowns & bring a lot of happiness to my life.

Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.
Yep!
Interesting, isn’t it?
(Of course we know that Jesus was speaking of the Teachers of the Law, but it wasn’t just the Law of Moses as outlined in the Torah. By the 1st century, there had been an entire edifice of man-made laws developed, encircling the Law of Moses, making compliance nearly impossible. Kind of like the situation in “Atlas Shrugged”, only religious rather than economic.)
Exactly. If the owner spent as much effort in chipping and tagging the Doxie as in tracking down the dog...this wouldn’t have happened.
Wonder if the pup had its shots and was licensed as required by municipal law? [as they are here]
