Just sayin'
Ya got a better chance at stroking out on the way to buy the ticket.
I admit I buy one, I don’t go overboard, I might buy two plays, that’s about it. If I’m meant to win, I’d win if I play two games or two hundred. I have nothing against gambling if it is done in a responsible manner. losing a couple of bucks in one thing, betting the farm on it is another.
I like the lottery. It’s the only tax poor people pay. I do buy a couple when I’m working in a state that has it and the pot is big, why not?
The best thing about the lottery is when poor people win it, and they become poor again within a year or two.
The lottery is a tax on people who are bad at math.
Back at uni, one of my classes was statistics and the reason why students took it was really to find out if they can crunch the numbers on the lottery.
Don’t participate but I guess it is more fun to pay taxes that way then in your paycheck!
I lost too.
The lottery is a tax on people who are bad at math.
=
But if the gods wish to be Good to me...........
“Its the only tax poor people pay.”
I’ll remember that! I used to feel bad for the poor old lady buying a pack of smokes and a few lottery tickets.
I would have won this time, but I forgot to buy a ticket! (Would have made my third or fourth lottery ticket ever.)
I heard yesterday that here in Germany the Lotto winners with 6 numbers right got 80,000 euros.
I said good thing I didn’t win, I’d be pissed!
I bought my first lottery ticket in 15 years last night. I had zero numbers right, which is about my average. A waste of two dollars.
It was Bushs’ fault I lost, and I’m a racist. :)
I’m thinking of a number between 1 and 175,223,510.
Only two bucks per guess!
The odds of winning the Lottery are the same as getting hit by lightning seven days in a row.
I’m good at math and I know the odds are horrendous but I have one chance rather than none. At least in my state the proceeds go to college tuition.
Lottery is horrible if you actually look at the %. State takes from the pool, taxed on the winnings, Annuity for full payout or like 50% for lump sum, nobody talks about what happens to winning tickets not turned in.
But for $10 bucks 4-5 times a year, I get a nice sleep laying in bed at night dreaming about being the chosen one for that week.
I wasted 2 bucks and if no one hits, I’ll waste another 2 bucks Saturday, LOL.
Its worth a ticket to say you were a contender :~)
They have about as much chance of winning the lottery as ... retiring and living off their 401K.
lol!
Just think of all the brotha's you could help out enable more than you unwillingly do already!
There is no point going overboard and getting crazy about it.
I play one box with the numbers I want and then the second box with numbers that are + or - 1 to 3 from the numbers in the first box.
Ah? Eh? Ah- Ha! Ah-Ha-Ha-Ha!!
or living in a free democratic republic.
If God wants me to win it He’ll arrange it no matter what I do or don’t do, so I don’t bother buying tickets.
OTOH, I do tell him that if He does arrange it, then I’ll pay a double tithe on it. So far, no ticket has anonymously showed up.
Maybe if people didn't over analyze they might find the excitement of possibility refreshing.
Good to see you by the way, its been a while!
It sure has, but not because I haven’t been here; just haven’t crossed thread-paths for awhile. Best to you & the family.
Millions of losers but two big winners.
Thank you Applegate, you have incoming mail
Sorry, guys - it’s a tax on stupidity. Knock yourselves out.
Actually you had a higher chance of winning last night's lottery than being hit twice by lightning in a year.
I’d rather see 500 smaller pot winners. This is stupid.
nobody talks about what happens to winning tickets not turned in.....It’s amazing how many are thrown away, lost, misplaced, etc. Point in case: As a cop, one of our officers was called to a house where the dead old man was suspected of being beaten up and robbed (he died a painful natural death but tore himself and the house up doing it). While looking in a dresser drawer which had been torn out and scattered on the floor, he found lottery tickets in the sock drawer that were three years old and expired. One was found out by relatives of the deceased to be a $500,000 winner!
You can’t lose if you don’t play.
I win a dollar every week.
For many people their life would be a million times better if they won $550 million and only 0.01% worse if they lost $2. It's not so clear that buying a single ticket is a bad investment.
And all their new friends are gone within a year or two as well.
I bought one last night. first ticket i bought in a year.
And, yet, people do win.
Check this out.
I did ‘win’ a Million $$ prize here. I only had to play 2 games a week for 6,341 years and spent over 2,000,000.00 to get it. Lots of fun, though.

“I bought one last night.”
I did the same while buying gas last night. There were eight people ahead of me buying them. One guy spent $20.
Just sayin'.
I had to take a statistics course two times before I passed it. But I did pass it, so I don’t buy Lottery tickets.
Wow...I understand the odds, but can’t I buy into the dream? Jeez, you suck the fun out of the room. Next you will tell me that ice cream is bad.
bflr
Cool toy.
