“These men were victims of war too and their only alleged crimes were following the orders of their superiors.”
No, they were accomplices to mass murder of their neighbors and fellow countrymen. They should have fell on their swords if they had any humanity.
Which was done by our ally the Soviet Union tenfold...
They should have fell on their swords if they had any humanity.
Where is the humanity in war? Do you for one second believe that there weren't attrocities committed in Vietnam by U.S. Soldiers that were never investigated?
Do you want to go there? OK then, let's do it.....
Let's start with the My Lai Massacre shall we? William Calley was convicted for killing 22 villagers but only served 3 1/2 years under house arrest. The rest of the soldiers under him who were also involved in this rape and murder rampage were let go........
Shall we revisit this crime, pursue and prosecute the rest of the soldiers as the US is doing to these German prison guards? Maybe even retry Calley and give him the life sentence he deserved?
In your perfect world of warfare, why should these guys who actually participated in rape and murder get a pass when mere prison guards are being hunted down and deported???
