Some of the games will be nice, others are just repeats, ala LSU vs. Clemson.
Florida vs. Oregon would have been nice.
Who in their right mind decided that Northern Illinois should get the at-large bid over the University of Oklahoma? It should be OU vs Florida in the Sugar Bowl.
Worst bowl season, ever.
Wow. We have more bowl games than good teams to play in them.
Damn...Boise State’s game is scheduled for Dec 22. That the day AFTER the world ends. I swear...Boise gets NO respect!
Writing this from Columbus, Ohio.
Most bowls w/ Big Ten teams not good match-ups. I only see one Big Ten team winning (Wisconsin, if their big uglies show up).
Here’s hoping that Alabama wins the Championship Game, so that OSU remains sole undefeated team.
One factor that leads to bad bowl match-ups is the ridiculous conference tie-ins. They hamstring any flexibility in getting a good match-up. I’ll be a very happy guy if the concept of the 4 Super Conferences comes to fruition. 4 conferences of 16 teams 2 divisions of 8 within the conference. These 4 conferences would then create a NCAA “Premiere League” and the remaining teams can combine with the good FCS schools and create the next tier. The 64 top teams would be required to only play within the 64 team league. No cupcake opponents looking for a payday. An 8 or 16 team playoff could then be formatted and the bowls would be sent to the ash heap of history they so richly deserve.
I was hoping for a Michigan vs. SDSU matchup in the Beef O’ Brady Hoke Bowl.
Only 9 SEC teams? hehehe...
Wouldn’t it be easier to just have one bowl game between the two teams who weren’t selected for a bowl game?
