Study: Women Spend More Time Ogling Women
UPI ^ | Dec. 1, 2012

British researchers say women are more likely than men to give women's bodies a visual once-over.

Researchers at Bristol University came to their conclusions after asking volunteers to examine a range of different images, including pictures of couples in films, The Daily Telegraph reported Friday.

They found women spent 61 percent of their time looking at the women in the pictures, and only 39 percent on the men, while men seemed to spend just over half -- 53 percent -- of their time looking at the women.

"This is counter-intuitive from a sexual perspective if you are thinking about desire, but it's not surprising if you look at it in terms of sexual competition," said Felix Mercer Mos, a computer science doctoral student who led the study. "The women might be checking out their sexual rivals and comparing themselves with them."

He noted: "That's speculation of course -- I've no proof whatsoever."

The study also found that while men concentrated on the faces of the women, women's eyes tended to roam around the whole figure.

Kate Figes, author of books on relationships, said she wasn't surprised by the study's findings.

"We are always sizing ourselves up against the competition," she said. "It's because we feel threatened. It's quite a basic animal state. I'm sure if the gender states were reversed, men would do exactly the same."

indeed, my wife just said that it;s not true and thta checking out other women is just gross, her words.

Gowever she idd say what another freeper said and that was , women do look at other women to compare themselves, does she have nice hair, does she have a better body than I etc, does her clothes match , what showes does she have.

This article is all about the homosexual agenda, what it wants to do is have the idiot men go ah yea baby homo qomen but thsoe hollywood homo women are not what real homosexual women are all about.

Real homosexual women are ugly, overwight, look like men, pretend they;re men, many a time they do smell and they certainly have bitterness and anger to the world and they have to wear plastic strap ons during sex to play the role of a guy because nature made them a woman regardless of how many times these homo’s pretend they;re not a woman.

Case in point “Sarah Palin”.

Some are, some aren't.

When I look at that picture of Raquel Welch from way back in the white bathing suit I am both admiring and envious. Don't hate her and don't want to have sex with her. Just admiring a beautiful woman.

But, women could blame THAT on men, too! Blame it on both President Bush’s and Reagan, too. “Men, and their guns.”

But retro-babes like Raquel aren’t a threat to you.

Poorly done study. The sharper men in the study probably figured out that this was some kind of sex test, and decided that the best way to get done with it is to spend equal amounts of time on each photo. Either that, or they wanted to get done quickly.

Also, not much description is made of the types of women in the pictures. Old, young? Fat, skinny? Shapely? Homely? Degree of clothing?

The women would be less confirmed with being called a pervert. And, if the pictures look like the pictures in a “Soft Surroundings” or “Tall girl” catalogue, might have been used in the same way that the catalogue is used, checking out the clothes, NOT the women per se.

Pretty common in the canine world, it’s called “bitch aggression”.

My wife is an athlete and quite slim. She gets the evil eye from other women ALL the time.

Different viewpoints, I guess. I don’t see women as threats or people I have to compete with. If a man is attracted to me he is. If he’s not he’s not. I’m not sure it’s related to what some other woman has that I don’t but more to the chemistry between a man and woman.

Yep.

But here’s something that lots of women won’t admit: This jealousy is a HUGE component of what drives the animus against Sarah Palin.

After the 2008 election, I had the dubious pleasure to sit in a room adjoining to a gaggle of gals, where I got to listen to successful, high-drive women rant about Palin. And the rants had NOTHING to do with her politics (or theirs).

No, the rants are about:

- she’s had five kids and she still has “that figure.”
- her shoes are nicer than their shoes. WTF is it with women and shoes? For chrissakes, I have two pairs of boots that I wear 300+ days a year - one pair for summer, the other for winter. The other X days per year, I might be wearing something more formal, for weddings, funerals, church, etc. But most of the time, it’s one of my two pairs of White’s.
- Her boobs are “too perky.” “She had to have a boob job.” “No, she had to have a reduction after five kids.” “No, she had to have them pulled up.” Cripes, make up their minds. Palin’s bustline looks nice. That’s the sum total of my opinion as a man.
- Her legs are too nice. Or her hemline is too high. They can’t decide which.
- She wears clothes that look too nice.
- Her teeth are too nice.
- Her husband is too ruggedly handsome.

On and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

End the insanity. Repeal the 19th Amendment, tell women to STFU and get back into the kitchen. They haven’t the personalities to deal with politics, and there’s no way in hell I want any woman near “The Button” that launches nukes.

I’ve often said that women wear makeup not for men but for other women. Now there is a study to back me up.

Within 1/2 millisecond my ex-wife would spot, grade and categorize every woman in every room she ever walked into. If they were young and pretty(younger and prettier than her) the talons would be sharpened just in case.

The real b@tch was that she also kept one eye on me to see if anyone caught my attention and if she saw even one moment’s hesitation, I would pay for that “insult” for weeks. For a long time my friends thought I had a cervical neck problem because I would always walk around with my head and neck frozen in a forward position.

They are checking out clothes, hair style, shoes, accessories, crap like that. I have noticed this in lots of ladies myself. Guys will give a once over and move on, but many women take a little time and study.
