KANSAS CITY, Mo — He was playing the field.
Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher had a boozy dinner with another woman and spent the night at her apartment before he went home, fought with and killed his girlfriend, and then ended his own life in a practice-facility parking lot, sources said yesterday.
After dinner and drinks Friday night at a local tavern, the former Long Island high-school star took the woman, Brittni Glass, to her home, but spent the next several hours asleep in his Bentley outside her building, neighbors said.
After cops roused him from his drunken slumber at about 2:30 a.m., Belcher went inside Glass’ building and re-emerged about four hours later.
“I was with him that night, that’s it,” a reluctant Glass told The Post yesterday.
Belcher drove away at about 6:45 a.m., making the 10-minute ride to the home he shared with Kasandra Perkins, the mother of his 3-month-old daughter.

I would guess one of the two "girlfriends" didn't approve of his having two girlfriends. That might be what started the confrontation that lead a domestic abuser to a murderous reaction.
Costas should have lectured us on monogamous relationships and its relevance for our species.

The couple argued early Saturday morning after Perkins attended a Trey Songz concert and had drinks with friends, while Belcher reportedly “partied” in Kansas City’s Power & Light District. Belcher was angry that Perkins had been out so late and ended up sleeping in his own car. Police woke Belcher up at 7 a.m. and considered him fit to drive himself home. Upon his arrival, Belcher and Perkins argued again, with Belcher’s mother hearing her son say something along the lines of “You can’t talk to me like that” before pulling the trigger.
Seconds after fatally shooting his longtime girlfriend, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher leaned over her in their master bathroom, said he was sorry and kissed her on the forehead.
His mother, who heard gunfire as she stood in the kitchen, rushed to her son’s bedroom and watched his remorseful goodbye.
Belcher apologized to his mother, kissed his 3-month-old daughter and fled his rented home in the 5400 block of Crysler Avenue in his Bentley.
Pioli and Crennel attempted to dissuade Belcher from committing suicide, but as police closed in, Belcher reportedly said “I got to go...I can’t be here” before kneeling down behind a vehicle, making the sign of the cross and firing a single bullet into his head.
From whom does Mr. Smith imagine Mr. Belcher's 3-month-old daughter needed protection ... their teammates? The mother's next live-in boyfriend, if she'd lived to move on from Belcher?
It has been my experience that when cops roused my acquaintences from a boozy slumber in their car at 0230 it was for the sobriety test, trip to jail and booking on DUI charges. I know a couple of people that happened to. Maybe it would have worked out better if they had treated him like they would any other drunk sleeping in his car.

A radio caller to the Schnitt Show has an amazing story about Jovan Belcher.
Twelve years ago, when Belcher and the caller’s son were both 13 and attending the same school in West Babylon, New York, Belcher and a gang of his friends repeatedly beat up the caller’s son and threatened him with worse. The father complained to the school and the police. Nothing was done. The caller says that Belcher had an ability to appear like a choir boy in front of adults and no one would believe that he was a violent criminal. Finally, out of fear for their son’s life, the family moved from Long Island to Tampa, where they reside now.
The caller says that his son was so traumatized by Belcher’s treatment of him that for years he became dangerous himself, as he would over-react to any perceived threat from others. However, in the last few years the son has gotten over the trauma, settled down and married, and now has children.
Needless to say, the major media have no clue about Belcher’s brutal past.
I wouldn’t worry about the the details because girl #2 is not telling the real story obviously.
Now, the feral folks walk around like little lords and nothing is allowed to get in their way.

The law seems backasswards here. If you are tired or sick (or drunk), you should have the right to try to recover in your car, vs. trying to drive and endanger others and yourself. Just one more instance of stupid laws run amuck.
Just take it into consideration when reading the rest of his garbage.
Don’t know about everywhere, but in some jurisdictions you’re guilty of DUI if you go to sleep in the front seat, but not if you crawl into the back before passing out.
If you have the keys on you and you are in the car you are guilty in some places.
