Local Kjazz station at Cal State long Beach is playing some of his great music.
Rest in peace, Mr. Brubeck and thank you for some outstanding music.
I saw him perform live when he was around 82 — simply amazing. Most of the performance was jazz, but since he was at Georgetown University, one of the beautiful pieces he conducted was a choral mass, with the refrain “Bow down, bow down.” It was gorgeous. I have not been able to find where it is recorded, if any freepers can help.
Dave’s contributions to Jazz go beyond his compositions, style and musical talent. I met him once after a show, a truly nice guy.
Mr. Brubeck, thank you for much great music including the iconic version of Paul Desmond’s “Take Five” and “Unsquare Dance”. Rest easily
There goes a legend... RIP.
Give me five, Dave!
Take five, Dave, you earned it.
Rest in peace, Mr. Brubeck, you will be missed.
I saw in in concert with his sons about 35 years ago. Many are claimed to be legends, few people qualify. He’s one of the ones who qualify. RIP
I hear you’re mad about Brubeck
I like your eyes, I like him too
He’s an artist, a pioneer
We’ve got to have some music on the new frontier.
One of the great ones.
RIP Dave Brubeck. I’m mentally humming one of your tunes as I type.
