The Dave Brubeck Quartet's "Bossa Nova USA," a somewhat rare album, was my first ever record album. Loved it.
Got to see the Quartet at Arizona State U back in the late 1960s---just before Paul Desmond was gone. Got to go backstage with Joe Morello. Amazing drummer.
A lot of jazz players looked down on Brubeck because he wasn't far out/Miles Davis-ish enough, but he epitomized the best of jazz.

I lay on the wall-to-wall in the living room next to the speakers for hours after school in the 60s listening to Take Five. What a legend.
