Gas-guzzling German cars bashed (by enviro-wackos)

Environmental campaigners have taken aim at famous German car brands like Porsche, Audi and BMW, criticizing their high CO2 emissions as well as Germany’s tax system they say promotes petrol-guzzling vehicles. …

“Germany has the most absurd policy in the world of making incentives for polluting cars,” said Patrick Huth from pressure group Deutsche Umwelthilfe (German Environmental Aid or DUH). …

The DUH group has calculated that the tax regime on cars owned by individuals is also one of the least strict in terms of carbon emissions in Europe. And Huth criticized Germany's famously speed limit-free motorways, “the only case in the industrialized world“ as an “incentive to buy souped-up vehicles.” …

What an idiots. Germans are building sporty full-size sedans capable to go 160 mph at better mpg than Prius.

My Mercedes diesel averages 30 mpg, has a sufficiently-large and comfortable interior, and unlike fuselage of old, is quite peppy and fun to drive. Even with 183k miles on it.

YES!! We have a winner. Anything that the takers can do to keep the makers from enjoying the fruits of their labors is OK with the Takers. Bring everyone down to the lowest level - 0bama's goal and the goal of the Democraps and their accomplices and supporters in this country.

German cars are not “throwaway” cars. This gives them an overall much smaller environmental footprint, since the environmental impact of autos is mostly the manufacturing of them.

But environmentalists are tools of new left and elites, who define what environmentalism is, so they never have thought about manufacturing.

And even at that, a lot more is recycled today than use to be, and manufacturing is much cleaner than it used to be in developed Western nations.

China, of course, is the greatest environmental problem at this point.

Most wacky activists don’t realize that they are pawns.

Elites control any major initiatives that involve government. Politician A sits down with experts X, Y and Z, who explain the facts of life to them, then offer them good ideas for helping their own career and doing “what needs to be done”.

I’d like to remind Patrick Hitler that Germany’s cars are also built with a large eye towards export-Yes, Patrick that means the U.S.A. where many people buy foreign.

I had my share with the these anti-car zealots. Like my very liberal manager at my last company. He gave me and a different guy a rash of $h!t for driving Subaru WRX Turbo’s and told us how we need to buy an environmentally conscious vehicle and the ****er himself had a pickup truck. He also gave me crap about getting speeding tickets and pontificated about how good 55 mph was. I know a neighbor of his who seen him drive reckless in the neighborhood and on the highway.

I remember back in 1990 when after Kuwait got invaded, I got a lot of crap for owning and driving a Mustang GT. I usually got 20 mpg in the car and I drove it 80 mph most of the time.

A lot of these leftists and elitists are the puritans of our age and they need to be resisted. I remember back in the 1980’s the Green’s were wanting to impose a national speed limit in Germany akin to our much hated 55 mph limit.

Since a Prius can’t go 160 mph it’s difficult to make that comparison, isn’t it, LOL.
