Those wacky Brazilians. I don’t find this funny. I have an excellent sense of humor and usually find “shock” humor funny but this is a bit much.

It might be funny if the poor people were not captive in the elevator. You can tell they are in sheer terror. Its kind of sadistic..

Fake. Why did the girl in the elevator conveniently push the button after the coffin was brought in and after the guys walked out of it? Would you have taken the coffin along for the ride? Also, after the ‘corpse’ falls out she immediately puts her face to the elevator wall and you can see her smile.

Agreed. Not funny. also too intense and sustained with “trapped people.” If in this country it would mean lawsuits.

It is sadistic and I suspect the jokesters didn’t consider whether any of the victims had heart issues that could really set off.

I’m all for a good practical joke, but this was a bit much.

I don't think it was fake. She was genuinely creeped out.

No CCW in Brazil, eh? That would make for a *really* interesting video.

I believe the “victims” are definitely in on it.

That wasn't very funny, pretty predictable. I worked in Funeral Service for three years, and:
1. Never transport a casket with a body in it vertically.
2. Never leave a casket with a body in it unattended.

I just finished the whole thing. This is terrible. The people are captive, they take too long to get them out, the corpse approaches them, this is done by people who have no comedic timing or sense of humor. I’d sue thier asses off.

Sometimes, fresh cadavers will get a strong spasm that can make them move, in one way or another. Usually such people were very athletic before they died, and died suddenly.

A friend was hired to work in the sub-basement morgue of a large hospital, and on one of his first few days there, the hospital received just such a cadaver. He and another lab technician were called to pick it up and take the gurney down via the service elevator. After they had pushed it into the elevator, the tech told him to take it down, that he had forgotten something.

The tech knew that when the elevator hit the sub-basement level, it tended to strongly jar the elevator.

The elevator went down, then it went back up for other hospital workers to use. When the door opened they saw the gurney, my passed out friend, and a big naked guy sitting next to him.

One of the people waiting was a doctor, who reached down and did a quick pulse check of them both, and as my friend found out later, he remarked, “Well, this one is taking a nap, but the naked guy is not doing so hot.”

I have seen a hand move a little bit when injecting the embalming fluid; I’ve heard the ‘death rattle’.
But a body just sitting up? Never seen it, and everyone I worked with says it’s an urban legend.

Well, in particular about sitting up, I heard of some wicked medical students who inserted two wires into a cadaver’s spinal cord, then to a simple switch and a car battery.

It was said that the cadaver half sat up, gave off a convincing groan, then collapsed back onto the table. Most impressed the basic class witnessing the dissection. However, this is anecdotal.
