F##king bastards. When its the 316th birthday of some poet that nobody has ever heard of, if its 103rd anniversary of the discovery of some random physical law, their page is completely made over.

Pearl Harbor Day, Patriots Day, Veterans Day, 9/11...Nothing, except for perhaps a small ribbon in the corner of the screen at the most.

Thats why I don't use google.

As opposed to Bing, which has a picture of the wall of names at the USS Arizona Memorial. They get it.

Screw Google & Bing. They’re connected.

Try this search engine. https://www.ixquick.com/

“The Worlds most private search engine”.

Microsaoft’s Bing uses Google’s search results.

Check out http://www.ixquick.com/

They do not record your search info. Have been using it for a year and am perfectly happy with their results.

Dogpile also has something. Arfy and his pals are shown heads bowed by a flag flying at half staff.

In 1958, th Eisenhower administration proclaimed December 7 Civil Defense Day, aimed at appreciating and educating the public about our civil, or passive defenses such as fallout shelters. During the years in which it was observed, organizations such as the US Office of Civil and Defense Mobilization would hold open houses and feature displays relating to civil defense.

The Kennedy administration apparently did away with Civil Defense Day—perhaps it was too provocative to the Russians.

Yeah, I also have been using them for about a year. Great results, private, etc. The only thing I had to get used to was the slight slowness in making connections to the site, due to the SSL connection (but in fairness, it might be my 10 year old computer). Not more than 1-2 seconds...

I use ixquick.com and its excellent. Plus they don’t store records of what you have searched for, like tootle does.

Must be your computer or your connection. I just went there and the page connected and loaded immediately.

This might be just about the most frivolous thing to complain about ever.

no the most frivolous thing is google ignoring my birthday again this year.

was at the ceremony for the 60th (2001) which was small and very nice and last year for the 70th which was too large. always go out to the memorial and last year went to the air museum on ford island and attended the dedication of the ford island control tower as a monument.
