[history]
Officials are still trying to sort out what to do about a dead 40-foot fin whale that washed ashore last week in Malibu, creating a big stink.
The spit of sand is at the foot of a towering cliff, below Barbara Streisand's neighborhood that features massive estates of groomed lawns, swimming pools and tennis courts.

"It's sad to see it like this," he said, after having his picture taken in front of the dead whale.

How could they tell? The foul smell is coming from both the celebrities and whale.

G-d has a sense of humor. Remember that Frasier skit where the seal died behind Maris/Niel's beach house when they were having an "important" soiree?

If he’s sad, imagine what the whale must’ve felt. /s
Cellphone cameras combined with social media have made very strange creatures of some people. Detached voyeurs in passing.
To: ExxonPatrolUs
Good.
I have had ther misfortune of having to deal with people from Malibu in a professional context.
They are THE biggest jerks on the planet.

Should be interesting if they try to move it. Will probably fall apart and spread the rotting carcass everywhere. They'll never be able to get rid of the smell after that. Lol.

Flashback to when Ros said to Niles at the singles bar: “Okay, let’s make that lesson number one: If you’re going to use words like “milieu,” you might as well show up here with a sore on your lip and a couple of kids.”
To: ExxonPatrolUs
I’d say emulsify the muck, put it in a sprayer truck, and spray the entire rich-asshole neighborhood.

They should call out the dynamite experts to dispose of the carcass in their signature way. It would not hurt my feelings to see whale particles raining down on Barbara Streisand’s pagoda.
To: ExxonPatrolUs
This reminds me of a si fi story I read many years ago in which, after a storm, a dead man washes up on a modern West Coast beach. The man would have been 50 foot tall.

Dynamite. There is a YouTube video of some fools blowing one up. Guess they thought tons of rotting flesh would just disappear. What they got was tons of well dispersed rotting flesh

If youre going to use words like milieu, Ok, come clean, you had to look up the word "soiree," didn't you?

I once saw video from a similar situation to this. Their remedy was to blow up the whale carcass with a bunch of TNT. I suppose that breaks it down into a more manageable size(s), but it surely couldn’t be easy to clean up. When that thing blew, pieces of it literally went all over the area where the whale was located. I’m sure it didn’t improve the smell any either. That place will probably stink for weeks, even after the whale is removed.
(couldn’t happen to a better group of people out there)

Have a theory about limousine liberals — the arrogant snobs treat everyone like crap 99% of the time and then try to make themselves feel good about themselves by pushing the liberal agenda the remaining 1% of the time. To liberals, the 1% justifies the 99%.
Funny how it always about other peoples money, too. A 10 million dollar estate in Malibu would buy a lot of food for inner city poor children.

A classic! From Wikipedia on the incident:
[A military veteran from Springfield with explosives training, Walter Umenhofer] had known that 20 cases of dynamite was far too much dynamite to be used. Instead of 20 cases they needed 20 sticks of dynamite. Umenhofer said Thornton [the engineer in charge of the project] was not interested in the advice. However, by an odd coincidence, it was Umenhofer's brand-new Oldsmobile that was flattened by a flying chunk of blubber after the blast. He told Lode he had just bought the Ninety-Eight Regency at Dunham Oldsmobile in Eugene, during the "Get a Whale of a Deal" promotion.
Folks, tragic irony doesn't get much more tragic or ironic than that.

LOL I was thinking the same thing. We lived in Oregon when this happened and for years afterwards (probably still), every time something happened with a whale, they hauled out this video. Too funny!
To: ExxonPatrolUs
Given the location, how do we know the stench is really coming from the whale?

You put out like everyone there is the same.
There are many very wealthy business owners, inventors etc, who reside in Malibu, and these people have created many thousands of jobs in CA and all over the U.S.
Apparently many who reside in places like Hacksaw Arkansas and Cowflop Tennessee, think everyone in Malibu are Hollywood celebrities cruising down PCH in presidential stretch limousines.
Not quite.

I have had ther misfortune of having to deal with people from Malibu in a professional context.
I know a guy who caters in Malibu, Beverly Hills and movie locations. He says he has the most trouble getting paid by the residents of those two communities. He won't deal with some of the biggest names in the movie business.
