Jerry Brown, 25, is the person who died. Brown is listed as a linebacker on the team’s practice squad.

Costas will blame the American Automotive Manufacturers Association; guarantee, he will find no fault in either the driver or the passenger - if only there hadn’t been cars for them to drive . . .

Not sure what the point of that was. Seems kind of stupid and rude to be putting on a thread about somebody getting killed.

Sports columnist Mike Lupica, who is a remarkably thoughtful/knowledgeable authority on every other topic as well, will write a column blaming the Tea Party because they opposed federal funding for the building of mass transit as a replacement for cars.

Seriously. Besides, football rules. As a diehard Steelers fan, I can’t wait to go to London next year to root on my team against the Vikes at Wembley. Should be a great show.

BTW, sad to hear of this tragedy.

Bob Costas will blame the NFL for not providing alcohol counseling.

Was the dead man wearing his seat belt?

If not, Costas will blame the NFL for not providing seat belt counseling.

Bottom line for Costas...

Non-white individuals are NEVER responsible for their own reckless or violent behavior.

I blame Big Oil. If John D. Rockefeller hadn't perfected refining, we wouldn't have the gasoline and diesel to fuel internal combustion engines.

How come nobody in the MSM called costas a racist for suggesting that the NFL has a “gun culture”...costas talked about ‘Cowboys “ in the gun culture...but he sure didn’t talk about the ghetto -rapper-Thug culture.ha.

Hey Costas, it IS the culture...the ghetto Thug culture..not the guns. Funny how this isn’t happening to the likes of the Mannings, or Tebow.

Football is dominated by Thugs. And thugs also carry guns.

I think the rookies still get the welcome to the NFL classes and they cover all of this.

Each team has a referral program if you need. But you have to step up if your problem is not known by the team.

If he ws charged with manslaughter, he was either driving extremely recklessly or DUI. I have been hit (and hurt) by drivers doing both; I have sympathy for neither.

“He was sentenced to two years probation, 60 days in jail, a fine and 200 years of community service, ESPN reported. He was playing for the University of Illinois at the time, was suspended from the team following his arrest and never played again for the team. “

Why is he playing football if he had to do 200 years of community servic?

About twenty years ago there was a Houston Oiler player who committed suicide on the freeway after an accident on a multi-story exit ramp that threw his "close friend" out of the window to his death.

Rumor had it that the "close friend" was performing a certain act that resulted in a certain appendage being amputated when the accident occurred.
