I pray this AHOLE gets caught by a Texas Ranger here and gets thrown in a Texas Prison for Life!

I do too......What's strange tho is how irrational he's sounding considering he's been a member here since 2000. (not that that makes any difference)

My guess is that he wants to make a drug run.......or find a cheap dentist.

I know I will need a passport for coming back into the US and I have that. But will I need a drivers license to get my car back into the US, as well.

You missed the last word in my comment. STAY. As in stay there and don't come back. You will fit in with that culture perfectly.

But I will never return and I advise all Americans to stay away.

I've been to a few "interesting" countries in my day but I've *never* entered Mexico (or any other Spanish speaking country) and *never* will.Unless,of course,I'm kidnapped and taken there against my will.

I dont give a crap about what is legal or illegal.
Keep a diary and leave a will.

WILL THEY ASK TO SEE A DRIVERS LICENSE WHEN CROSSING INTO MEXICO BY CAR?
Only if you are driving.

WILL THEY ASK TO SEE A DRIVERS LICENSE WHEN RETURNING FROM MEXICO BY CAR?
Only if you are driving.

lol! I've been to Columbia, Panama, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Cuba. Yes, even Cuba. I entered from Jamaica. I felt safer in all of them, far safer, than I do in the pisshole known as Mexico.

It is my dads car.

If your dad knows, he's an idiot. I think we've already established as to you.

Lots of insurance policies won't cover if the owner knowingly lets an unlicensed driver take the wheel. But it doesn't matter in Me-he-ko, as you'd need to get a short term Mexican policy anyway.

But if you don't care about cruising around unlicensed, I don't see why you'd let the insurance issue bother you.

So are you a drunk driver with a suspended license, or a deadbeat dad?

I have $5000.

I need to buy time to finish up a rather large computer project, which is here:

http://www.wikitimelines.net/

I can live on $5000 in the US until April.

In Mexico I can live on that for a year. Anything that extends my bench time on this project is very helpful.

The car is mine. My dad is on the title/registration, that is all. I paid for the car. My dad has never seen the car.

I do not owe child support.

I have 3 different DUI’s in 3 different states.

I explain 1 in great detail here:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2553365/posts

The other 2 I got while living in my car in 2009. Apparently since we dont have vagrancy laws, police will charge you with DUI if you occasionally sleep in your car were they dont want you to. It is much more lucrative for them. Many of the towing and impound lots are owned by the police or their family members.

I can get Mexican insurance.

And yes, I was in Mexico, on a 60’ sailboat for 6 months back in 2002. I understand Mexico. I like Mexico.

Fortunately he's flying a California flag, so hopefully he won't get this far east.

You can take the train to San Diego, and the trolley to the border if you're foolish enough to want to go from Calif.

Last Month drove down Baja 800 mls, crossing in San Diego.
Using that experience lets redefine the Question:
1.Can I drive into Mexico without a Wallet or any Papers, in a car I do not own?
Answer: Yes, you can
2. Can I do the same and stay for weeks or month without getting stopped by the Federales or local mex Police in their modern, latest Cruisers.
Answer: probably not, much higher risk then doing the same here in the USA.

That won't mean anything to any legal authority. The law will view your dad as the owner of the car and any criminal or civil liabilities accruing from ownership of it will fall on him.

Your father is on the title and registration? Is he sick of helping you now?

My dad is 85, has terminal cancer and really doesn’t care about this life anymore.
