Er, you guys are not quite getting this.
1. The theory is interesting, and more importantly, as stated, its easily testable. That means that this can clearly be discarded if it doesn’t test out, unlike other vague explanations that hang on because they are untestable. This thing either is true, shortly to be determined, or its gone and everyone can go back to their favorite theories.
2. If it does test out, then potentially not only can this be tested for, it can also potentially be prevented or even cured. Gene therapy perhaps.
3. At least a simple early pregnancy genetic test probably can be produced. That would make an interesting sort of leverage on abortion policy, for one thing.

If there is a test or a cure I predict it will be in wide use very quickly outside the US. Most of the world is NOT PC.
The populations of China and India find this sort of thing quite useful. To begin with they will start aborting all the gay babies.
Then the test/cure will be available in the US. Then the fireworks begin. What to choose ? Choice ? Abortion ? Gays ?
This theory explains the children that come out different. It might not be the only answer to sexual orientation nd imprinting (molestation) may also play a role, but no doubt something is hard wired as well. There are many children who play differently than their gender. They were not molested. They are good people, beloved children of Gd, but they act like the opposite gender, not their own. This does demand study. Epigenetics helps to explain these discrepancies because there is no gay “gene,” just gay behavior and sometimes looks as well.
I believe they are onto something. Knuckle dragging freepers love to think that molestation creates all homosexuality, but they would be very wrong. Ask the good decent men who are very straight but their lives have been greatly damaged by mole station by a man in their childhoods. It definitely doesn’t turn all boys gay.
I hope it will be testable too either way, and if its true that people will not abort babies who have it just as I wish they didnt abort babies with down.

Several years ago a homosexual-oriented group tried to push the idea that homosexuality was a genetic trait because they found that very frequently a homosexual had an uncle on the mother’s side (the mother’s brother) who was also a homosexual. They missed the obvious, that the mother stupidly trusted her brother who was secretly molesting her sons.
It is THE sort of think Hillary C is FOR. Genetic testing to “decide” where a child can be placed in society. In this case— gays can be “aborted” with ease if known in advance.
So, depending on your “preference” as a parent, and in line with the Planned Parenthood nazism, this would be ultimate eugenics. For the purity of the child and all.
The gays don’t want this. Anymore than the study long ago about male babies born during the London Blitz— percentage homo quite high vs. control population which was not in the blitz. Mothers had high adrenalin from fear all the time— and the male babies were “feminized” (in all basic embryology texts, or at least it was at one point) by the high adrenalin blood levels in the mother.

But I think being so inclined is a mental disorder, not a choice.

Nobody has ever said that being molested turns all boys gay just just as being beaten as a child does not mean that you will grow up to beat your kids.
It does however result in a statistically significant higher chance of those things happening and for similar reasons.
The victim does not want to be a victim, they want to be strong. The abuser is strong. The way to be strong is to be an abuser and have your own victims.

I believe that homosexuality is congenital. There are also many birth defects that are also congenital as well. Why would it be genetic when it ends the genetic line? What possible purpose would that serve the gene pool as it won’t continue the line and therefore not add any more variance?

I cannot remember the scientist, but it was someone talking about how horrible AIDS was for medical research. It was politically popular and pulled in money that could save far more lives by studying malaria, tuberculosis and diseases that kill more per year than AIDS had at that time.
I’ve always thought of heterosexuality and homosexuality as on a kind of spectrum with bi-sexuality in the middle but maybe that’s too simplistic. What’s your take on it?
Someone brought up a really good point earlier. If this is a genetic defect they found via testing, now they can start testing for it. And many parents would choose to abort. How could liberals then disagree, if parents can abort for any other genetic defect and even for their convenience?

Not sure I see what you’re getting at. To metabolize is to process through the body. To extract energy and new materials, and to remove undesired materials. Everyone’s body metabolizes alcohol. I’m an alcoholic, and I make a conscious choice every day to be sober, because it’s the right thing to do.

I suppose there are other causes of alcoholism ~ perhaps various sorts of liver damage.
The only part of it under the control of the victim is to make sure alcohol consumption is within the ability of the body to metabolize it in a relatively short time.

I cringe at the use of that word (victim) in this context. As if someone did something to someone, and someone else owes sympathy and restitution. The victim isn’t the alcoholic... it’s their family members and others who suffer from the effects of the alcoholics poor decisions. The alcoholic is the victimizer of their own family and friends. Once he can look at it in that context he is free to own and fix the problem.
Then, there are folks with liver damage from non-alcohol related causes and they could become alcoholics as well because of the damage.
Best bet is that if you have a Sa'ami ancestor you know about, or a Sioux/Lakota Indian ancestor, who was an alcoholic, you should not consume alcohol under any circumstances ~ EVER!

Oh, you are very right. Many abusers were abused, and the cycle keeps going. Imprinting is a fact. Especially about the power and the violence. But orientation doesn’t always imprint. Many SNAP (victims of sex abuse bu any kind of authority as a child - clergy, teachers, etc) members are hetero male adults that are still hetero and their homo rapes as kids have devastated their lives.

I think you are confounding genetic alcoholism with alcohol abuse. Two different things ~ many people ~ the majority actually, who are unable to metabolize alcohol do not use it and so do not develop any of the pathologies associated with the condition ~ that is, they do not develop alcohol abuse problems.

this is frigging stupid, homosexuals have some severe mental issues, they get turned on by the same sex and then carry out their sex which is unhealthy as medical facts will back up like where is the colon, where is the prostate, are they supposed to be hit with a penis, yuck I;ll stop there.
