Two large quakes for this area. A 6.4 and 6.1 and seem like seperate events.

They are separate. 17 seconds apart. What are the odds of that?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. If I lived in California I would be paying close attention that’s for sure.

Considering the area, a relatively stable section of the pacific plate.

Cue the beach boys music.. I know a couple of the surfing nuts from San D are itching for sunrise. Heck, they might be nutty enough for night surfing.

For those interested, you can subscribe the the USGS

So far, I have not been notified of this quake, but it is not always instant.

Seemed more like a quick shake to me.

Not much of an S/wave with this and South40’s description kinda confirms that. Not sure why considering the magnitude and depth?

ABC7’s online drum seismo is just odd as well with little S/Wave depicted given the size and depth.

If there is any quakes up around Seattle and or down by Chile then I would be greatly concerned.

I had a 5.8 quake last week about 20 miles from me here in Alaska.

They adjusted the second quake to a 4.7 but got to tell ya right after the second one they listed a 4.5 near the Salton Sea but took it down. You can kinda see a third quake on the multiple recorders I have seen.
