Nearly four in ten U.S. residents say the severity of recent natural disasters such as Superstorm Sandy is evidence the world is coming to an end, as predicted by the Bible, while more than six in ten blame it on climate change, according to a poll released on Thursday.
The survey by the Public Religion Research Institute in partnership with the Religion News Service found political and religious disagreement on what is behind severe weather, which this year has included extreme heat and drought.
Most Catholics (60 percent) and white non-evangelical Protestants (65 percent) say they believe disasters like hurricanes and floods are the result of climate change. But nearly two-thirds (65 percent) of white evangelical Protestants say they think the storms are evidence of the “end times” as predicted by the Bible. Overall, 36 percent point to end times and 63 percent to climate change. …

Wood block printing did not show up in Europe until the 1300’s or so. Johannes Gutenberg did not invent the printing press until 1439.I doubt that a scribe would spend the time writing a calendar unless he had a contract.
The Chinese & Arabs used different calendars, neither having dates anywhere near 1000.

Sorry, don’t mean to be cryptic...was fishing...
You leave out God in your analysis of what is occuring. When we do that we truly miss the boat. We are in a fight of evil vs good and it will probably be getting much worse (soon perhaps). We need to return to God and appreciate his creation (the immense entirety of it) and His influence with all things. We also need to recognize that Satan (evil) exists and is a force in this world. When we analyze things through this perspective we come up with different answers, and more importantly we see things through reality.

Nothing happens without God, God is reality...indeed, he created reality just as he created literally everything else. Have you considered that there has never been anything truly new created since His creation? We see adaptation, evolution, discoveries, but nothing new has been created...except perhaps in thoughts. This has been intriguing me for some time. Can you come up with anything truly created (from nothing) in the history of the world...after God’s creation that is?
