I am truly bothered
Absolutely agree. Holywood and particularly the video gaming industry need to be examined and REAL research done on the desensitizing effect of video gaming by young men. I believe the schools should institute an armed teacher program, similar to the airlines’ armed pilot program, which teaches not only firearms use but also hand-to-hand techniques to overpower attackers. There should be arms-qualified teachers in each school and weapons on the school property, readily available. On a personal level, we all need to learn how to protect ourselves and our families, starting with concealed carry. Teach your wives and children to be aware of where they are at all times; to be alert for abnormal behavior; to constantly scan for places to hide and escape. And, yes, I totally agree with locking up the mentally ill. Their families will thank you, believe me.
Allowing armed big government resulted in TSA, IRRC. All they are good for is stealing luggage, groping/molesting passengers, ‘inspecting grandma’s soiled Depends, ad nauseam.
Oh, yeah - did I mention providing make work jobs ffor Fast Food Industry Rejects?
What have you got against allowing Americans their Natural Law, and Constitution recognized, Second Amendment right to be armed?

If you "trade" rights for security you get neither.
Maybe you can explain what caused mass killings before video games. There were a lot of them over the centuries.
The only armed guard arrangement that would work is to station an armed man in bullet proof cupola ABOVE the main ~ and ONLY entrance ~ just like liquor stores do it.
That must have been when Peter Stuyvesant was running Neu Amsterdam.

The military patrolling our schools is the last thing on earth we need. Perhaps after the total collapse of civil authority in the future, your suggestion might be warranted.
My 11-year old daughter figured this out:
Dad: “What’s the only thing that can stop a bad person with a gun?”
Daughter: “A good person with a gun?”
She then named three people in the staff at her school she thought would be pretty trustworthy (and ballsy enough) to take violent action to protect the kids there.
Read where the custodian ran up the hallway yelling a warning. How about if he was reacting with his own firearm?
You can’t stop all of the attacks, but you sure can limit the casualties.

Bad idea - many of America’s violence prone can’t spell “god”, much less reasd & understand the Ten Commandments because they are Poobkil Screwel Collective products.
No problems with your idea here. It was done in the 1920s when the Marines were sent to guard the mail trains after several robberies. The Marines had a standing order. If confronted by bandits, both Marines should open fire because “they can’t get you both, and the mails will be saved”.
Also, this will have the added benefit of lots and lots of children seeing the American fighting man as a hero, a protector, who should be admired. This will cause cognitive dissonance when they get to high school and college and are taught that the US military is evil. The kid will have to think for a moment, “Say,,,that guy that he is talking about was who kept me safe when i was little”.

If you want school shootings to stop, do as the Israeli’s do - arm teachers. It worked there as not one school shooting occurred since teachers and older students were armed.
A caller had mentioned on a local morning radio talk show what I think is a pretty good idea.
Hire retired police. They are in a lot of cases still in their 40’s. Not to mention trained and have experience. And may be looking for such a position. They can be in plain clothes and armed. The locality can make it well known that the schools are protected.
Obamugabe has been busy for four years cutting Congressional funding for school safety programs. Harry Reid has made sure this didn't come up for debate by refusing to propose a budget.
