Link any AWB to a ban on violence in Hollywood movies

Posted on 12/15/2012 6:58:25 PM PST by Red in Blue PA

What needs to be done is to link any new AWB to a Hollywood ban on violence, and ban on violence in video games, and a ban on violent rap lyrics, and see just how far it gets when it impacts the accounts of the people in LaLa land. Too often the gun lobby is on the defense. Turn the tables on them.

These hypocrites will say guns are the problem, yet turn around and and take $10 Million to star in a movie which glorifies gratuitous violence. Why doesn't someone call them on this? When it affects their pocketbooks and their "1A rights", let's see how they react.

Nope! Not gonna allow it. Hollywood would quickly reinstate violence in movies after such a law was passed.

Here is what I wrote earlier today.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2968983/posts?page=81#79

After the murder of Bobby Kennedy, the blame was laid on violent TV shows, comic books, pulp magazines and movies.

Comic books changed their story lines. TV shows dumbed down to kiddie shows, pulp magazines toned down their covers, but them MOVIE INDUSTRY said they would police themselves.

A rating system would work! G M R X! Yes! That would do it!

HOT DA*N the HAYS code is dead! Produce’m boys!

The result was the most vile sex and blood films ever to come out of Hollywood. Produce an R rated movie for adults, market it to pre-teens! That was the way!

Maybe just establish firearms as art.

Defend that which is precious to you.

Banning anything means nothing. It’s sheer laziness.

There is only one solution to this, and that is defend our children with overwhleming deadly force.

That’s all, nothing else.

They should just pass a law against mental illness. That solves everything.

On second thought I think we pass a law making speech against the 2nd amendment illegal. What?...It makes as much sense as an assault weapon ban.

Nope, prohibit any exemptions at all in the law for Government or military or LE. Penalty for violation of this by Government would be instant death of those violating the ban. Also rescind all exemptions in all gun control laws for the Government, military and LE.

If we can’t have it, they most certainly should not have it.

Enough is enough.

BO and the Mooch honor these rappers that promote violence at the White House for heavens sake. Need to turn it around on them.

I lived on Long Island, when those shootings happened in the multiplex there.

That was it, for the cinema houses, for me.

IF there is a movie in the five-dollar bin at the store, maybe. I do not subscribe to the “change to blugh-ray” ideology, yet. I have a spare of the same model dvd player, ready to swap out when this current one dies. I couldn’t tell you what the difference is whn you show me something on the flat screen. Home theater, you say? I wear headpones most times watching anything on the flat screen, and that is my ‘home theater’.

So, outside of my cable/computer bill, Hollywood gets no extra money from me.

FedGov can shove its “ban” up its ass. WE WILL NOT COMPLY.

Fascinating, methinks, that such a proposition would but the first amendment at odds with the second.

It is interesting how some mentally ill people seem to get a thrill out of causing destruction to others property and people.

I’ve seen it first hand when a disturbed youth got thrills out of causing problems and never thought how such problems might effect other people and never thought of repercussions to himself. It was all the thrill.

Although I am 100% against every form Gun Control....not a bad idea to stick in a rider to any Gun Control bill pushed by the Dems to “ban violence and gun use in Hollywood films and TV shows”.

It would immediately kill any Gun Control legislation...and it would shut up all the hypocritical Hollywood liberals.

This is actually a very shrewd political idea

We could try, but the same old tired cries of “Racist!” would render our criticism useless.

The Media are the enablers, their credibility has to be seriously criticism repeatedly until they are forced to change their behavior.

Remove the enabler, and the poltical cover is gone.

It would be best if both could be done at once, but it is not feasible.

Nonsense.

Grieve. Sympathize. Then all but the impacted, move on.

This was a sad happening, but do nothing.
