"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

Yes, thanks for that, Vision. We tuned right in, but I’ve been super-busy with housework and making our first fatty. We’re not doing the traditional sausage, but instead, a bacon weave with ground beef. Inside, I put bell pepper, onion, mushroom, Greek olives and sharp cheddar, pepper and garlic. Keith’s about to put it on to smoke.

Our week was smooth, how about yours?

Oh, cool, a new smart phone! No, we don’t have one. They’re little super computers! I’ll bet you’ll have lots of fun with it.

You can talk into this, ask it any question, and it will tell you the answer. I've only tried it a few times but have not been able to stump it.

It translates.

If you're in a store and see an item, you can zap the bar code and it will tell you where else (locally) you can buy it and what the prices are.

It's freakin’ nuts.

Oh, and of course there's an otr app which streams shows on demand.

This is sci fi stuff.

There's an app that will identify what song is playing if you let the phone listen to it.

There's another that will identify a movie/tv show by listening to some of the audio.

It's nuts.

Yeah, they dumped the Big Broadcast. We’re playing the Big Town show off of Archive.org.

Vision, your phone sounds scary-high-tech. :-)

I bought the Tyler Hamilton book on Kindle. Thanks for recommending it. I’m finding it very interesting!
