You might have had cilantro in Mexico, looks like parsley. I’ve heard it referred to as Chinese parsley. Both Thai and Mexican foods are usually rife with it. It’s strongly flavored so many people love or hate it. There’s no picking it out if its in there believe me.

Xs you are correct about it looking like parsley, and I’ve seen it called Chinese parsley in some recipes-it has tiny white flowers when it blooms, too.
