Perhaps they need to look into the effects of prolonged violent gaming. Since many folks knew Adam ... perhaps if there was some type of an online portal for citizens to report/monitor such folks who ‘game’ for days, without eating, bathing, never leave their house, with no job, over the age of 18 years old, and generally free to walk about. Older generation needs to understand the severity of this and the problem is not gun controls but rather deeply disturbed individuals having access to such technology. These are not ATARI like games. They are real time..blow you and others up on line in real time to bits...blood and guts shed and all. After days of playing these games it seems people have a difficult time discerning virtual vs reality. The only way to reproduce the on line experience is to go out and shoot people in the real world.

The coverage goes so far as to suggest that people looking in from the outside need to feel every bit of pain because otherwise, we’d be oblivious to the meaning of it and the gravity of the situation.

Of course!

This is one of the most base tools of emotional manipulation.

It urges people to ignore facts and rational discussion, and in their desperation to feel better, to push for emergency enactments of dusty legislation which would never fly in more sane times.

Yes, the situation is heart wrenching.

That does not mean it should be followed up with more sweeping and grave acts, as many of the Communists (let's call a spade a spade, shall we) in our Government wish.

Can either of you point to a source -- other than the pharmaceutical industry -- that all evidence of problems with psychotropic drugs is bogus? That there are no problems.

Can you explain the meaning of and reason for this:

A black box warning is the sternest warning by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that a medication can carry and still remain on the market in the United States.

These warnings are required on some psychotropic medications.

I’ve heard it called “moon eyes” where you can see the white of the eyeball all the way around the iris.

A psychologist once told me that if you see someone with this symptom, even if it is only for a few minutes, that the person is out of control and might be considered temporarily insane and cannot respond to reason.

We were discussing the actions of my now “ex” wife when she flew into a rage.

RE: your questions

If you will consider my reply #3: "Evidence is that prescribed drugs are a problem.. "

I indicated that I know that there is evidence and it's a fact that there is evidence; and I did not say that there is evidence that psychotropic drugs are the only problem. My illustration represents the tenor of the evidence.

Thank you for you civil manner I will do my best to help keep it that way.

In that spirit I will admit that I am inclined to believe that mind-altering drugs can cause problem if for no other reason than misuse.

First, I knew you would avoid answering my questions. It is standard reaction when someone is in denial. Second, an answer to the above question is irrelevant. By example, can you point me to evidence that problems with guns is bogus? Can you point me to evidence that problems with surgery is bogus? Can you point me to evidence that problems with aspirin is bogus? Can you point me to evidence that problems with eating dairy foods are bogus?

Your lack of applying logic to the use of drugs in indicative of someone that is in denial, deluded by some factor or belief or inability to process information in logical way.

I tried my best to respond to your questions.. it seemed to me that they had nothing to do with my reply #3.

As for your next round of questions.. the answers are No, No, No, and No; though of course it is assumed that misuse of the items is not part of the question.

I proudly state once again: that I am inclined to believe that mind-altering drugs can cause problem if for no other reason than misuse.

I just noticed that we posted replies (above) at exactly the same time and I was about to post the "great minds think alike" thing then I realized that you'd be insulted.

You responded by ignoring them. I assume they bring too much reality to your thinking.

As for your next round of questions.. the answers are No, No, No, and No; though of course it is assumed that misuse of the items is not part of the question.

There is plenty of information and studies to show that guns, surgery, aspirin and dairy foods cause unwanted results including death.

I proudly state once again: that I am inclined to believe that mind-altering drugs can cause problem if for no other reason than misuse

Well of course they can. But that is not the issue.

Here is your logic:

Psychotropic drugs can cause harm. Therefore, these drugs did cause harm.

If we apply this thinking to another area where you may be less biased we get

People eating peanuts can die. Therefore, peanuts caused the death.
