It is the season of glad tidings and forgiveness. But many Christians living in Auckland, New Zealand, are struggling to find goodwill in their hearts for the latest in a series of controversial billboards coming out from the Church of St. Matthew in the City.
Its Christmas. Time for Jesus to come out, the sign proclaims, with an image of baby Jesus as a toddler in a manger, surrounded by a rainbow halo.
The billboard was put up by the Reverend Glynn Cardy, who said it was meant to lift the humanity of Jesus. But it is likely to face the same fate as last years controversial postertorn down by angry locals.

And if it was about Mohammad? As a pedophile???

...by attempting to defame his sinlessness and claim that he was an abomination? Have a nice eternity in Hell, pastor.
I would imagine there is a special place of honor in hell for preachers who blaspheme.
Maybe they are shooting for a seat next to the Devil himself.
Atheists masquerading as Christians. There’s a lot of that going around these days...at least in Western countries.
Dsgusting and sick.
There’s even one with a fashionable Pennsylvania Ave address.
Wait, I thought the hot new “irreverent” thing was to say he was married, now he’s gay? Boy, atheists, make up your mind!
The Rev’s message, while presented in a controversial manner, is to ask if it would change anything for the faithful if Jesus had been gay.
He points out that there is no indication about Jesus’s sexuality: ‘The fact is we don’t know what his sexual orientation was.’
Of course it would change things. If Jesus had been gay, he would have been a perverted deviant, and not a “lamb without blemish”. His death couldn’t have paid the debt for his own sins, much less the rest of ours. So, yes, it would change things, in fact, it would invalidate the most fundamental, defining aspect of Christianity.
So called religious leaders like Cardy do not actually believe in the trinity and probably do not believe in God.
Keep it up freaks, continue to invite Satan into our lives and there will be more Sandyhooks than we can handle.
I think it is time for the Orthodox and conservative Christian churches to create an “Ecumenical Pact”, in which they write a list of “What Christianity is”, and “What Christianity is not”.
The short list would be very precise of the essential doctrines of Christianity, the beliefs of Christianity, and for the first time clearly state what are Christian beliefs and what are not.
To conclude by saying that Christians endorse these beliefs, and if they do not, then they are *not* Christians, even if they say they are.
The idea is to purge, at least nominally, the innumerable fake religions, cults, heretical sects, and religions that equate Christian beliefs with those of other religions in synthesis. As well as intentional misinterpretations of doctrines as well as intentional corruptions.
By creating even a few standards, there will be a great redemption of the respect for Christianity that is now scant. Likewise, those who wish to embrace Christianity will find it much easier to find a real Christian church, not a pagan temple of heresy to corrupt them.
These people will burn in hell for this.
yep, but only whisper that or its off with your head...during Jesus time on earth sodomy, fornication and adultry were sins. Don’t think he was a pervert...
Meaning Mohammad ... right? It’s been shown or proved (I think) that he married a nine year old and other nasty stuff that he did.
Imagine what will be going through this guy’s mind on the day he falls to his knees before the returned Christ. He’ll be recalling every filthy, blasphemous detail of this, and he will KNOW what a terrible sin it was, but it will be too late.
And what source does the good “vicar” base his claim on?
It’s not a serious assertion. It’s real life trolling.
Wind, water, or fire; giter done.
My point was Jesus had neither a sexual relationship with a man or women that some idiots make up...Being sinless he sure wasn’t gay, since by Jewish law its a sin same goes for all the other stories made up to fit personal believes. Sodomy, fornication adultery etc, he did not practice that, he forgave those that did. IE; the woman at the well that had 5 husbands, he said go and sin no more...Now the lesbians and homosexuals have made up their own :”bible” from a feminist prospective, in other words a book of fiction they call their bible..
Muslims believe its ok to sexually abuse kids. that makes them evil in my mindp>
He didn’t smoke either but He did drink wine. Useless idiots trying to fit modern day mores into Jewish society of Yashua’s era.
there are no verses showing that He drank wine, though accused of it. However, He did change water into wine At the wedding feast...
In Matthew 11:18-19 He said -
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon. The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners. But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.
Here Jesus said he drank. It’s safe to assume he meant wine due to the context. The sin isn’t in consumption. The sin is in overindulgence and resulting actions.
Drinking wine in that era was a given. Why would there be a verse saying He did? There is no verse saying He bathed either. Nor one saying He brushed His teeth. Just because nothing was written about what He did or didn’t do doesn’t mean He did or did not do it. It’ nit picking.
