A newly crowned Miss France beauty queen has become embroiled in accusations of racism and a catfight between previous winners just days into her reign.
The Representative Council of Black Associations (CRAN) denounced medical student Marine Lorphelin, 19, for being 'as white as snow' and criticised the lack of black and Arab contestants.
The organisation labelled the contest outdated and an insult to the country's ethnic diversity.
CRAN president Louis-Georges Tin said in a statement jointly issued by Miss Black France creator, Fred Royer: 'The failure to represent the contemporary French population in an event such as this is obviously serious. 'It amounts to denying the very existence of French people of African origin.'
The CRAN statement added: 'In the antiquated world of Miss France, blacks apparently can only come from overseas departments.
'As for Frenchwomen of north African heritage, they were 'represented' by only one candidate who was quickly eliminated (too Muslim perhaps?).
'Miss France is as white as the end of year snow on the steeples of an eternal France.'

IOW the racist group is trying to say “european is racist” ala the UN conference on racism.

As someone whose great-grandfather left that country and emigrated to West Virginia, I can tell you that historically, Frenchmen have always been white.

What gets me most is how everyone demands. You come to a long established country and refuse to do as the Romans do, and yet you are allowed to bring your culture with you and form enclaves. Yet if the situation was reversed, you do not permit other cultures into your former country without having them completely change, or as in some areas, even face death for not changing. Can you imagine a Miss Saudi Arabia named Irene O’Hara who is of Irish Catholic decent? Its Ironic.

If we go over there to any of their countries, Mexico, iran, Pakistan,we are told to respect their culture, the way they dress etc, OK I will go along with that as it is their country.
Now the same people which state that are the same poeple which say. we need to respect their culture, the way they dress, traditions when they live in America.

I agree. Colored people always seem to complain if things aren't just the way they want them to be.
