I am going through withdrawal...Ya'll have been helpful and have recommended some of the authors I'll name here...I've unfortunately exhausted Ben Coes, Brad Thor, Brad Taylor, Vince Flynn and Barry Eisler's novels...I would appreciate some more names...I was once told to read David Baldacci's novels...I read 2 pages and realized he's an America-hating liberal. Please, none of these. I only like America-supporting, conservative spy novels...many thanks in advance.

Just finished Clancy’s Dead or Alive, now am reading Locked On. Both are very similar in style to his early novels and are very timely to today. He is back on his A game.

I think Teeth of the Tiger was the last book Clancy wrote alone. The last few have been co-written.

I am currently savoring ‘The Black Box’. I have every Connelly book in hardback going back to the first. He is my favorite author. BTW, I was not thrilled with Matthew McConaughey playing the Lincoln Lawyer.
“The Black Box” is the one I just finished and I saw the movie about the lawyer and McConaughey didn’t look like I pictured Mickey. I won’t go see “Jack Reacher” because I’ve read all of the Lee Child books and Tom Cruise just doesn’t do it for me.
When Connelly wrote “The Lincoln Lawyer” I was annoyed because it wasn’t Harry but I loved it. I loved the next Haller books too.
I also love Lawrence Block and John Sandford.

I just finished the latest C. Cussler. I doubt that I’ll buy another.
For a off-the-wall adventure type story, D. K. Richardson has a ‘World of the Chernyi’ series. Interesting characters, believeable story lines. I’ve got all 5 out so far.
Even the Connelly books that don’t feature Bosch take place in Bosch’s world. Books like ‘The Poet’, ‘Blood Work’ (didn’t care for Eastwood playing the part of Terry, either) ‘Void Moon’, ‘Chasing the Dime’, and ‘The Scarecrow’ contain references to Harry’s world and often have characters that have been previously referenced in Harry Bosch books.
In some cases, a character with a book of his own ends up “co-starring” in a later book with Bosch. For example, Terry (’Blood Work’) ended up working with Harry in a later book and Mickey Haller (’The Lincoln Lawyer’) worked with Harry in a later book. (Of course, Haller is Bosch’s half-brother so you knew that was coming.) Also, the reporter in ‘The Scarecrow’ (Jack McEvoy) was previously mentioned in Bosch books, too.
Harry even once took a motel room in one Bosch book and briefly bumped into the woman gambler, Cassie Black, from ‘Void Moon’ who just happened to be staying in the same motel. The encounter was totally irrelevant to the story, but Connelly threw it in there just to let his readers know it’s all the same Harry Bosch world. All the books and characters are connected in some way, and they’re all in Harry’s world. I really like the way Connelly does that.
Here’s a Christmas tip for you - - a truly amazing book: ‘Run’ by Douglas E. Winter.
Trust me on this.
It’s Winter’s only book (came out in 2000) and I have absolutely no idea why he never followed it up. ‘Run’ is about an illegal gun run from Washington DC (”Dirty City”) to New York, but it’s way more than that. Just great, and the writing style is truly original.
