Alex Berenson has a series that are really good. Start with “The Secret Soldier”. The fourth in this series is coming out in February.

Steve Berry has a bunch of cool books. They trend a little more toward Dan Brown but the main guy, Cotton Malone, is more of a spy type guy.

The last few Tom Clancy books with Jack Ryan Jr. and the Campus are also really good. I am guessing that they aren’t written solely by Clancy (who is probably my favorite author) but they are top notch thrillers with the conservative flair.

If you haven’t ever read Clancy’s original Jack Ryan series, go back and give those a try. I have been re-reading one of those each of the last few years since I read them all in the late 80s and 90s. Those books are the high watermark of the genre imho.

I have read several of his books and The Dogs of War is probably my next favorite of his & I have read The Odessa File which was good, but I like the other two better. The characters in The Dogs of War were so strong, especially the main character & the ‘twist’ at the end ... well, it was a good one. I think I’ve read The Afghan, The Negotiator, The Fist of God. Thanks for reminding me about Forsyth - I have The Jackal, Dogs of War & Odessa File in paperback (worn & tattered!) ..... need to revisit and reread some of his other books. Merry Christmas & happy reading!! MM :-)

Thanks for your informative Bosch post.

Christmas is finally over so back to some serious reading for me.

I’ve read Henning Mankel(Swedish) and am just starting the Jo Nesbo books (Norwegian).

The best 2 reading months ahead for me. Pure joy.

Just finished “Rainbow Six” by Tom Clancy and “The Expats” by Chris Pavone. Both good.
