CHINO (CBSLA.com) An alleged weekend fight between parents of youth football players at a San Bernardino County park is under investigation, authorities said Monday.
The fight took place Saturday afternoon at Ayala Park during a Pop Warner tournament, Michelle Van Der Linden of the Chino Police Department said.
Chino police received several calls reporting a fight at the park around 3 p.m.
The fight reportedly involved as many as 200-300 people, Van Der Linden said in a statement. However, witnesses said the brawl only involved a handful of men who may have been drinking.
When officers arrived, the scene had cleared and there were no reports of injuries.
The investigation has revealed that the field was being rented by MAC Sports Hot Route Football and Pop Warner was not involved in the event, Van Der Linden said.
MAC Sports has used the field for the past two years for the tournament, which draws teas from across the Southland. No previous incidents had been reported.
Don't you hate it when everyone else's day is ruined by just a few bad apples.
Wow!, I have been seeing this headline for a few days, and figured they were going wild in South Central. But this went down 3/4 mile from my House in normally very sleepy Chino. 50/50 Repub/Rat Burb 40 miles east of La La Land.
Ayala Park is named after former State Senator and WWII Vet Ruben Ayala, first Mayor of Chino whom just passed in the last year. One of his Sons lives across the Street, a great guy.
I’m guessing this looked like NBA All Star game meets Cinco Duh Mayo?
Clearly the only way to stop this is to put high walls around the cities to keep flyover country guns and violence out.
Probably doing the fighting that Americans won’t do
BINGO!

I grew up in Chino, graduated, returned after service, and finally left in 2003. Chino has been gang infested for decades by Chino Sinners. Ayala park was never a safe place especially at night. The Hispanics in the city and area are increasingly militant LA Raza types.
A football traveling tournament. Traveling teams are the last vestige of old West gun fighting. You just show up and go at it. They have referees, but no supervisory organization.
“This is a basketball tournament for ten year old boys.”
“Yeah, so what?”
“So what? Tell your point guard he left the lights on on his car, that’s so what.”
