One person was killed and 13 wounded in gun violence over the Christmas holiday, including an 11-year-old boy grazed by a bullet and a man who was shot to death during a dispute in the Englewood neighborhood.

Joshua Davis, 18, was shot to death in the 2000 block of W. 69th Street -- a few blocks from his home -- after an altercation with several males on a CTA bus, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The group followed Davis off the bus when one of the males pulled out a handgun and shot Davis several times in the torso and once in the ear about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.

Davis, of the 7200 block of South Bell Avenue, was pronounced dead an hour later at Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, the Medical Examiner’s office said.

what really happened: black or mexican gang bangers shot and killed a rival black or mexican gang member with a handgun in a city that (unconstitutionally) doesn't allow the concealed carrying of handguns.

The liberal interpretation: men of unknown race, but probably typical law abiding small town white males from a southern state, followed a young black male as he left choir practice and then pulled out their AR15s and shot him repeatedly before fleeing back to their small towns in their red states.

There must have been a self-imposed Christmas truce.

The weather is getting cold in Chicago but that doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down the city’s shooting epidemic. Aspiring rapper Joshua “JayLoud” Davis was shot and killed on Christmas Day following a dispute with several men, allegedly over his decision to wear a hoodie donning the name of Joseph “Lil JoJo” Coleman, who was gunned down over the summer.

Coleman was killed following an altercation with Chief Keef’s people. His mother believes that Keef paid someone to kill her son.

Davis got into an argument with several men at around 11:30 p.m. Christmas night, on the 2000 block of West 69th Street, when one of the men pulled out a gun and opened fire. The 18-year-old was shot several times in the torso, as well as once in the ear. He was transported to Advocate Christ Hospital where he was pronounced dead one hour later. “It was my little brother,” Davis’ older brother told local news station, Fox 32. “It was like the other half of my heart, and he gone now.”

The shooting was one of two that occurred blocks apart, the first of which involved a man shooting at his stepfather before police were called.

I just checked all the local news sources in far northern California for the area north of Sacramento and SF and guess what??? Not one person killed or injured with a firearm on Christmas day. Add to that the fact that there are tens of thousands of firearms and many legally armed people and still no one shot, injured, or killed, and this is in an area larger tan many of the eastern states.
Makes you wonder what they are teaching their kids in Chicago.

Only one killed? The criminals must have taken the day off and let the up and coming criminal class take a shot at it.

It's not what they're teaching them. it's what they aren't teaching them. and that would be anything.

The 18 year old who was killed was a child, not a man. Just ask the American Academy of Pediatrics. They regularly report on the tragic deaths of children up to 19 years of age.

Another successful episode of the liberal agenda at work:
Wow, is Illinois and Chicago great or what?

Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago?

Body count: In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago.

221 killed in Iraq AND Chicago has one of the strictest gun laws in the entire US.

President: Barack Hussein Obama

Senator: Dick Durbin

House Representative: Jesse Jackson Jr.

Governor: Pat Quinn

House leader: Mike Madigan

Atty. Gen.: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike)

Mayor: Rahm Emanuel

The leadership in Illinois - all Democrats.

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago .

Of course, they’re all blaming each other.

Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any!

Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country.

Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any!

State pension fund $78 Billion in debt, worst in country.

Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any!

Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country.

Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any!

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois.

And he is going to ‘fix’ Washington politics for us???

George Ryan is no longer Governor, he is in the big house. Of course he was replaced by Rob Blagojevich who is...that’s right, also in the big house. And Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned a couple of weeks ago. That is because he is fighting being sent to...that’s right, the big house.

The Land of Lincoln, where our governors make our license plates.

But you know what? As long as they keep providing entitlements to the population of Chicago, nothing is going to change, except the state will go broke before the country does.
