You have a good point, since Nyquil and that other stuff aren’t remedies per se-they relieve symptoms of the cold or flu, but don’t do a thing to shorten or cure the malady. Based on that, the manufacturers of those “remedies” certainly wouldn’t want something on the market that would diminish the need for their products by the consumer.

Oh, I know, I was being droll.

If I ever tried to use one of those I would go on a sneezing jag lasting for days.

I also read where people used non-sterile water and essentially injected deadly parasites into their head.

It doesn’t make you sneeze-just clears the sinuses-and why do I think that the clueless users of Neti pots are people who will be holding lighted bottle rockets in their bare hands on New Years Eve?

Thanks very much, xsmommy. The solution for me was imparted to me by my pulmonologist last Thursday morning. I must lose lots of weight. Mrs. MacNessa and I are going on a low sodium, low fat, low calorie regime. We're also going on the wagon, much to my dismay. Unfortunately, it has to be done.

Soother provided mr with a laugh, too-but “Neti pot” does sound like either some sort of bong, or a particular type of pot-Thai stick, Panama red, etc.
