VIDEO: Pwditat the cat is guide-puss for blind dog

A cat has become a guide-puss to a blind dog around their home.

Moggy Pwditat has shouldered his responsibility of guiding his canine friend Terfel.

The friendly pair have been “glued to each other” ever since Pwditat first set eyes on Terfel.

Their owner Judy Godfrey-Brown, 87, said the cat uses his paws to guide his four-legged friend around the place – inside her home and out in the garden.

Retired civil servant Judy, of Rhydwen, Holyhead, said: “I took Terfel home after a man came to the charity shop I was working in and said his landlady wouldn’t take dogs. More recently he became blind.

“One night a tomcat arrived here. He just stood there outside my front door and looked at me as to say: ‘I want to be a house cat’. It went straight to Terfel.”

She added: “The cat knew there was something wrong with the dog. They seem to be glued to each other. They sleep together and now Pwditat has become Terfel’s guide.”

Because Judy can’t look after them now, both animals have been transferred to the care of Anne Cragg at her cattery near Llangaffo.

Both furfolk are cute, but methinks the rescuer needs to dial it down a notch.

One of my Jack Russels 4 years old, went blind this year. He hasn’t needed any help learning his way around the house or the yard. He amazes me every day, the way he has adjusted. He does get a little nervous if there are kids or guests dogs in the house and he hides.
