A B.C. filmmaker says he's lucky to be alive after narrowly avoiding a grizzly attack while filming in the Robson Valley, southeast of Prince George. Leon Lorenz, who lives in Dunster, B.C., was filming grizzly bears in a nearby valley when he spotted a bear and her cub. Mother bear charged through the trees right at Lorenz. He recalls thinking, "This is for real.

Good thing for him the bear was a Congressional RINO, and turned tail at the first hint of conflict.
Wow, that guy is lucky. I hope he brought a change of underwear.
A good reminder to avoid relying on pepper spray. They nearly always run after a report from a firearm, not that I would fire at the sky in such a case.
Must have been a liberal... filming the Griz without a loaded 12 gauge with slugs is soooo stupid...
Still might get mauled if you be a bad shot..
THAT brought back a scary memory for me. Wow.
I killed the one that charged me. I don’t ever want to experience that again.
Sheriff I need to have a movement!
I’ve got a .50cal Beowulf w/ either 350gr or 400gr HP big game loads, that I’d prefer to either of my Remy 12ga slug loads.
Stupid of him to fire in the air. If the sow didn’t turn tail I don’t know if he would have had time to get a second round off on target.
this is BC, not US, so the bears are better behaved.
What I saw was - and maybe I’ll get hammered for this - a mother protecting her babies - something that doesn’t always happen in the human world. But then, bears don’t do crack or have criminal boyfriends.
Glad he didn’t kill the mother and orphan the cubs.
Only his laundress knows for sure.
You said the gospel. I’d hate to orphan the cub, but that momma griz would have made short work of him if all he had was a bolt 30-06 or less. He’d have never gotten a 2nd shot off w/ her on top of him. One swipe of her paw could easily remove his head, or most of it.
I was on safari in South America in the darkest part of the Sahara Jungle when I was accosted by a large Bohemian Aardvark. He quickly threw a tentacle around me and attempted to stuff me into his huge maw. Fortunately, I still had my rubber band gun and she was loaded with two Goodyear Grenade specials. I let him have it right between the eyes. He had three eyes, so it was a trickier shot then you might imagine. Too late I apprehended that the beast was a mother and that a small Aardvark kitten was behind the killer. Well, I wept profusely for the little beggar, what with his mother bowled over by my snappy marksmanship, and decided right there to raise him as my own. I named him Sonny and he sleeps at the foot of my bed at night. Sometimes, his purring keeps me awake, but I throw him a delicious milk bone and he goes right to sleep.
I once shot an elephant in my pajamas.
How did the elephant get into...never mind.
