The problem with only allowing property owners voting rights is that the government becomes taxation without representation for non-property owners.

Now, if you want to say that ONLY property owners pay taxes, then it becomes a different issue.

Currently, there is only one party in Washington: The Re-Election Party. That party will not solve our problems.

Yes.

And the Republicans do no necessarily mind being the minority party. They don't have to work as hard and they still get a share of the pork.

At the local, state and federal level we need patriots who will stand up. It does not matter that we will be a minority party—at least we will have fighters, instead of go-alongs. The GOP has been losing since the FDR Administration—the inexorable slide toward SOCIALISM. At least if we had a party of citizens, we could throw monkey wrenches—and leave a stinking bag on their doorstep when appropriate.

I agree with your post about the Constitution, however, Judge England, US Eastern District of California in Sacramento, ruled the U.S. Constitution does not require the US President to have valid IDs.

The US Attorney had stated at a hearing that there is no requirement for the US President to have a valid birth certificate and a valid selective service certificate and a valid Social Security number. See OrlyTaitzEsq.com

Orly responded to the judge that there is nothing in the Constitution requiring the President to have a pulse, or brain activity, but if the President has to be a natural born citizen, he should have a valid birth certificate and not a computer generated forgery, that he would not be using a stolen Social Security number and a forged Selective Service card.

"2. Voting rights for property owners only,"

That would exclude most who've served in our military forces.

"or at least limited to Taxpayers."

That would include everyone (fees, property taxes, sales taxes, Social Security, etc.).

Agreed on term limits, BTW.

Limit Representatives and Senators to two terms, or one term in each office. The Representative must face a retention election in the middle of his second term. The Senator must face retention election at two and four years into his 2nd term. Better, for Senators, repeal the 17th Amendment and return to status quo ante, no term limits for them would then be needed or appropriate.

Since I forgot about the taxation without representation bit, correct me if I’m wrong: weren’t taxes supposed to be temporary? Didn’t taxation start during one of the World Wars to help fight the war?

Per Google search, Lincoln imposed an income tax in 1861. It was in effect for 10 years, then repealed.

In 1894 Congress enacted a flat rate Federal income tax, which was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.

Congress tried again and passed the 16th Amendment which was ratified in 1913.

Repeal the 16th amendment and go to a national sales(consumption) tax. That one act would eliminate much of the lobbying in Washington. Plus, it would effectively neuter the IRS.

Repeal the 17th amendment and return to the states appointing Senators. Benefits would be getting the money out of campaigning and easier removal of bad senators.
