"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

I get it on WFUV where I live and my wife closes all the doors in house and turns up classic 60s rock on me to drown me out. Rich Conaty has been around a long time. It’s great show.

Hi, funny enough, your Sunday night Big Broadcast is different from this one. This is old time radio, and after searching yours appears to be music from the 20’s and 30’s. I'll have to check it out sometime.

Hey Gina, how's things?

Last night there were a few great hours of movies on tcm. The first was To have and have not. Check it out if you've never seen it. Then...to my surprise...they showed The Whistler. I wasn't aware of it but in the 40’s they made a series of Whistler films after the radio program. The original was really good...just like the radio show.

Very cool! I'd like to see a Whistler film. I have not heard of To Have and Have Not. I'll have to look it up.

All is well here. It's been rainy and cool. Just doing laundry and gave Keith a hair cut.

I'm addicted. I was experiencing withdrawal symptoms and couldn't figure out why until your reminder arrived. Feel much better now. Thank you :-)

I think I’ve seen a scene from that picture where Hoagy Carmichael plays a song in a Cabaret-type place (maybe it’s the same film). Can’t remember what song it was, though.

I saw that the story was used for a Lux show in ‘46.

Well jump on the pre-show link and start the medication! I listen to it 7 days a week.

Do you like any programs in particular tonight? Cavalcade of America might be good, Weird Circle sound familiar but can't place it, and of course Suspense is as good as it gets.

It was Bacall's first film and made her a star. Don't remember if her and Bogart were already dating or not.
