Well, they don’t give an exact date in mid-February, but I can easily envision welfare rats running in every direction howling for help from their supposed saviors and being told they are on their own-then they might actually realize they’ve been used by the mobsters they sold their votes to for stuff-what happens after that is probably a moot point, if history plays out the same as it has before...

Xs, I’m certain your argument(s) will be fondly recalled long after the meteor/asteroid has departed...

Thanks for the link-I believe the author echoes the sentiments of millions of us, at the very least.

There is a scene in a favorite book-which I’m reading now-the king in the story and his nephew-both are soldiers-are in winter quarters, discussing the ongoing war with the Saxons, and the nephew says-”Why do we go on fighting? Why not merely lie down and let it come? They say it is easier to drown if you don’t struggle”.
The king replies, “For an idea, just for an idea, for an ideal, for a dream.”
And his nephew says, “A dream may be the best thing to die for.” And they start making their battle plans for spring.

It has been one of my favorite passages in that book since I read it when I was in my teens, and no more true then than it is today, in my opinion...

It’s very sweet that you’re hoping to fit that in before the bang : )

Not exactly annus miribilis, but definitely overrated:

Sorry — annus mirabilis. Don’t do well when I’m in a rush.
