Authorities in Northern California made a snappy discovery during a routine probation check: An alligator-like reptile named "Mr. Teeth," who was apparently protecting a stash of marijuana.
When Alameda County Sheriff's deputies entered the Castro Valley home on Tuesday, they not only found 34 pounds of marijuana valued at an estimated $100,000, but also the 5-foot-long caiman inside a Plexiglas tank guarding it in a bedroom.

Maybe if they sold it joint by joint? Another example of police corruption.

Sgt. Stedenko, still on the job, after all these years.
To: EveningStar
They’re probably in more trouble for keeping a caiman than for having all that marijuana.

How does a lizzard guard something from inside a plastic cage? Perhaps his owner kept the stash inside the cage.
Perhaps the caiman was hooked, and died because the police deprived him of his pot supply.

How does a lizzard guard something from inside a plastic cage? You're not supposed to question the news, comrade, you're supposed to swallow it whole with a glass of Kool-Aid. Pay no attention either to any smart alec who says caimans are less aggressive than American alligators which themselves are not the most aggressive crocodilians either.
It was there to guard the pot that's all you need to know. /s
