I am just so excited by all of these contributions to the culture that are appearing. Just last week I read about the upcoming TV show “All My Babies’ Mommas” and, now, this ray of sunshine. Wow!

Sarcasm duly noted.

That being said, Parker and Stone present a small government libertarian view.

In contrast, the show you’re referring to glorifies the welfare state.

In other words, regardless of your personal tastes, there are two very different agendas at work.

I seem to recall Matt and Trey's Southpark episode making fun of Muhammad was pulled from Comedy Central and it really ticked them off. That makes them okay with me. I don't watch SP like I used to when it first came out but I do know they have had episodes that aligned with my views more than episodes that didn't. Also, good on them, they're unabashed Capitalists.

Be interesting if they set it up in Colorado since they have Colorado ties.

The words I wish was included in that release are “animation studio”. The live action stuff they have done is pretty worthless, but even as a small animation studio, with some good artists and writers, they could quickly challenge Disney and Pixar.

They could begin small, to get their feet, producing cartoons for television syndication like the Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon used to do.

With the money brought in, they could make feature length serious animation, like Studio Ghibli, that produced those amazing animated movies in Japan.

They would do most of the animation overseas, for better quality, then add US voice actors.

What a great name for an animation studio!

They wouldn’t need to do animation over seas. They have great animation software in their studio, which because of South Park’s visual style they don’t get to use “properly” very often. But it’s capable of excellent animation very quickly, and of course because of their schedule doesn’t do much for most of the year. They could easily be doing two full length movies a year with that software and their people in their protracted off seasons.

I'd bet the first production will be the movie version of The Book of Mormon.

The trouble is that the rule, “You get what you pay for”, applies just as much to high tech gizmos as it does to old fashioned hard work. The high tech stuff can only give you so much. If you want beauty and subtlety, you have to do it the old fashioned way.

Not really. What you have to do is put effort into it. They’re using the same software Pixar uses, but they limit it because of the look of the show. Once in a while you get to see what their software is capable of, like the fall into hell for Bigger Longer, and the anime episode.

A number of episodes end with a moral and one episode I would call a parable.

Satin challenges Jesus to a boxing match. Satin is a huge creature whereas Jesus is about 6'1" and weighs 130 pounds. Satin is pummeling Jesus and Satin starts whispering "hit me" to Jesus. Jesus raises a weak fist and barely taps Satin. Satin smacks the deck. The crowd goes silent. Jesus then figures out that no one in the town bet on him. The only one who bet Jesus was Satin. So Satin takes all the townspeople's money.

The moral:

No matter how big and powerful Satin seems to be you can never bet on him because he will deceive you every time.

I remember that episode. Oh and how could I forgot all about Mecha Streisand! They portrayed Barbra Streisand as a laser-eyed super villian because she dissed Colorado for taking a stance against giving homosexuality a special hate crime status.

Satin has never deceived me, but I have been tricked by silk a few times.
