My mom is in a beautiful assisted living center. They do her wash for her and return it folded, or they hang it in her closet; but she’s not satisfied with that. They pick it up Sunday night and bring it back on Monday, but she thinks they are too slow. She has plenty of clothes and linens (about 3 times their recommendation) but she is afraid that something she wants to wear won’t be available at the very moment she wants to wear it. So, she wants to wash her socks and her shirts herself and sometimes her slacks.

She’s always been this way, but you’d think that at 99 she’d relax and let somebody else do the laundry for her. I would!

My mom is in a senior apartment and she does have them do one moderately-sized basket of clothes for her a week. But it’s still not enough. And with her knee and back problems, going back and forth to the laundry room too much was difficult for her.

Cool. I am watching The Walking Dead while on the elliptical. I find that one gives me the adrenaline rush that 24 did. ie, I don’t slow down the pace while watching that kind of thing. A++

We’re midway through season 2 of Walking Dead and it is intense but I think 24 was more so.

It’s cold enough already. We were noticing the wind blow the snow off the roofs around the neighborhood. Not a good day for a walk. Single digits next week, will it be cold enough that it can’t snow? I’ve got my car starter. ;^)

There are at least 60-80 residents at my Mom’s apartments and facility services include laundry, medications, meals, safety checks every 2 hours, etc. But, she worries constantly that her clothes won’t come back on time. They always do, but Mom likes to worry.

I think that worrying restores to her a sense of control that she’s lost by leaving her own home. I don’t know how she can expect the aides to bring back the wash any faster than they do and why she should expect them to do her wash more than once a week.

You need an Amazon prime account. When she makes a request, just order it. It ships free and YOU don’t have to do anything but order it on your computer. I am looking at that, before the government figures out a way to ruin it.

What a delightful interlude! Why don’t they make movies like that anymore? Thanks for the smile.
