Well, yes, I am serious, because this is something that I take seriously. As to your children being “normal” I’m sure they are, by your standards, since everyone, whether they are grass-eating nudists or merely Oprah-watchers who put ketchup on all their food, including icecream, thinks that the way that they are is normal.
The question is not whether you and your family are normal - it’s about, I say again, about having been deprived of the greatest gift of childhood, which is a belief in magic. Even children who have grown up in abject poverty have had that. You can keep laughing, reveling in the flat literal-mindedness of the world you live in. I still pity you and what you did to your children.

I'd like you to meet my youngest son.  He is on the improv team at the college he attends.  He wrote all of these lyrics and the music.  He directed it and played the keyboard.  He did this for a contest last year and his team won.  It's hard to believe someone who grew up not believing in Santa Claus could create something like this with his own imagination!  Maybe he is just making up for all he years he sat around like a zombie in his dull and "magic-less" childhood.

Most Awkward Guy in the World

Make sure to watch past the first minute or so.  It starts off slowly.

I'll let him know about your pity and hopefully he won't quit the improv team once he realizes that he has no imagination.
