Bob Backlund Named 2013 WWE Hall of Fame Inductee (along with Mick Foley)

Wrestling legend Bob Backlund has been named as the next entrant into the WWE Hall of Fame...

He joins Mick Foley in the Hall of Fame Class of 2013.

There will be other inductees whose identities have yet to be officially announced.

The HOF ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 8:00 PM at Madison Square Garden - the night before WrestleMania 29. I don't know when or if the HOF ceremony will be telecast.

Now that pro-wrestling has changed so much no one will ever (be allowed to) hold the title for as long as Backlund did.

If someone holding the title for 6-7 years was what’s best for business, it would be allowed to happen.

If Vince saw continued buy rates, ratings and asses every 18 inches he wouldn’t care how long someone was champion.

a Hall of Fame for juiced up morons who know who the winner is going to be before the match starts.. go figure somebody would be impressed with that

Actually, a lot of our armed forces are big fans. WWE also does a lot of charity work with the make a wish foundation and Mick Foley makes frequent trips to visit injured servicemen.

Shouldn’t their script writers, “juice” suppliers, and choreographers get a place in the Hall of Fame, too? Couldn’t be any “champions” without them.
