Save the plastic containers that motor oil comes in...especially the ones for synthetic oil such as Mobil 1. Drain the empties, but do not clean them out, and fill them with your ammunition. Any residual oil will protect the ammo from corrosion, especially if the shell casings are steel. The oil is good for you magazine and good for your gun.

Note...if your oil containers are not from synthetic oil, drain them and then slosh synthetic oil in them, drain them and fill with your ammo.

Best of all, it provides a means of ‘hiding in plain sight’.

Has anyone here ever actually grown celery by using the bottom of the stalk and planting it? Will that work?

Yes, it works like a charm, big and beautiful plants result, best of all, unlike grocery store celery, you get all the very flavorful leaves for soup, too. I start it in a shallow bowl of moist soil and then transplant to a bigger pot [we grow most everything in pots in Florida.] Fill the pot half full of soil until it gets growing then add compost as it grows bigger; it likes cool temps so the pot is easy to move out of too much sun when it gets too hot.

“If wine doesn’t have a screw-off cap then I won’t drink it!”

I am not into 20/20, Mogan David, Thunderbird, Wine Coolers. Wino[vile under the tracks is where you will find all the screw off lids, though my friend. These guys lost their cork screw, or it rusted and is no longer any use to them.

“I don’t have room for all that crap although I do save SOME containers.”

I can’t/don’t keep all the stuff on that list because I don’t have the space, either, but a few of them I need to keep and don’t, so I will.

Yes it does . I usually trim a little tiny bit of the hard bottom part before dipping it in rooting hormone.

Works with collard greens too

There is a re-grow onion thingy where the celery regrow thingy is. Both are worth trying.

The large popcorn tins that come out at Christmas time are great to save and are much easier to get into than the plastic buckets .

If you turn them upside before using and spray paint the bottoms to keep them from rusting they last a long time .

“it likes cool temps so the pot is easy to move out of too much sun when it gets too hot.”

I copied what you wrote and put it with the celery stuff I got off that link. Would have to grow it in a pot, too, so I could move it under a roof over a deck, ‘cause Texas sun is hell.

I don’t know for sure that it would work for this, but soy wax is much easier to work with and clean up, melts at a lower temperature, and burns nicely.

I use sawdust in my egg cartons. And I use old candle wax for wax. I have several coffee cans full of old candle wax.

Hint the plastic cans don’t work as well IMHO.

The only downside, if you can call it that, is cutting the egg cartons apart. That can be a bit tricks

A good use for wine bottle corks is as trivets. They are thick and you can make them as large as you prefer. They even float!

You can super glue them together but I use sewing pins along with the glue. I stick the pin’s sharp end in the side of a cork, then clip off the head of the pin and file it to a point to be stuck in another cork. Be sure and glue that before pressing together. By adding corks you can make quite impressive sized trivets this way. These work very well outdoors too, if you are using Dutch Ovens and need a place to set down a really hot lid or pan.
