II was so bad I swore off trying to watch III ever. I actually thought they made VII already.
You see? They suckered me with II.
I went ahead and bought III thinking that nothing could ever be as bad as II.
Boy-oh-boy! Was I wrong.
Apart from Joss Whedon, I can’t think of a better choice. Can’t wait!
Well, since jar jar wasn’t in episodes 4-6, surely he won’t be in 7.

Abrams didn’t have much to do with Lost after the first season, so blame Lindlehof & Cruse for the horrible ending. In case you didn’t notice, Abrams has done a lot more than just Lost, and none of his other projects fit your description.
It’s a license to print money, those tend to have low bars.
