Government Motors determines a way to reduce the inventory backlog of Chevy Volts. Working with outgoing Treasury Secretary Turbo Timmy, Government Motors has decided to pay back the Treasury the $53 billion dollars with Chevy Volts. Instead of getting cash for the stock held by the Treasury, the Treasury will hand over the stock and receive Chevy Volts instead. Each Volt will be valued at 1/2 of it cost to manufacture (approximately $150,00) for the purpose of this exchange. As Turbo Timmy stated, "It's a win / win situation for everyone. Government Motors gets rid of the inventory backlog and the Treasury gets the coveted Chevy Volts which they can force government agencies to buy from the Treasury at a large markup.".

Can’t we print “One Trillion Dollars” on them and use them for money?

This is a perfect example how government is in bed with "some" businesses. Completely unrelated to the GM, this past week I watched the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show come to an end. This was one of the largest hunting and fishing sportsmen's show in America. I told people as it was being boycotted, "watch the last sponsors". The last major sponsor was Progressive Insurance. But as I was diving home today, a different route because of a meeting, I saw a bill board that had Chevy and GM as sponsors. I never heard a word from Chevy or GM about 2nd Amendment rights and the show. But guess who runs them.

I will never buy a GM product again, or a union made car. I currently own three Fords, but they are may last three Fords.

Same here. Companies that cash in on special relationships with the feral government get no respect—or dollars—from me. All else being equal, I'd rather buy American, but even my least expensive Japanese car was far superior to anything made in Detroit I ever drove.

Things are looking up!

I thought those Billions of bailout bucks would never be repaid, and instead we get thousand of those valuable Volts at bargain prices!

Let's see now, they were selling for $40,000 and Treasury gets them for only $75,000! Wake me up, I most be in dreamland!

But wait, there's more! Treasury turns around and sells them to other gov't agencies too? You mean we get to pay for them AGAIN?

Why don’t they just set the MSRP at $53 billion and call it even with one?

This POS costs $150,000 dollars to build and GM is going to sell them to the Government for 1/2 that price, losing $75,000 dollars on each car they give to the Government.

The things will sit in a Government warehouse for years because no one will want to drive them.
How is this win-win, when GM is losing $75,000 dollars a pop and GM is getting a POS in return???

No wonder we are 16 trillion dollars in the hole.

This is frickin insane, anybody with half a brain would scrap the ones already built and never build another one.

The best use for the Chevy Volts would be to transport them to the nearest bombing and gunnery ranges and expend them as targets. At least they’d perform some useful purpose.

Gonna need some democrat congressmen driving them so they can serve a useful purpose as well.

I am trying to stay out of union states.

...they are may last three Fords.

Smooth move!

Ford did NOT take a bail out. Ford DID come to some mutual accomodation with the unions that beset them. Ford DID fund itself by way of legitimate, open market, financial dealings.

Makes a lot of sense to refuse them your business.

Didn’t you forget to add “Make certain each Volt is stuffed full of collectivists and lawyer before firing commences.”

Just wonderin’.
