Can’t believe no one mentioned Vangelis’ score to the movie Bounty:

True Blood has a really great theme song. Here it is, but some might find the accompanying opening visuals a little disturbing:

Victory at Sea not just a catchy intro tune but a complete body of work

Yes, indeed. That beginning theme perfectly evokes the restless sea and a ship's prow dipping and rising as the waves break over it. And then, as you point out, there are the many other evocative themes in the total work. Also, a strain of patriotism is present in the music as well.

This is a different Conquest of Paradise than I have on my homepage. I’ve been listening to the Bounty and 1492 non stop since you mentioned about the Bounty. :) I used to listen to these soundtracks all the time, but had forgotten over the years about some of the music. Great video. Vangelis is ultra cool! Larger than life. Big Vangelis. Big music. Big choir. Big piano. Great, exploding theme! Thanks again.

Heard there was an ongoing fued between Andy Griffith and Francis Bavier. (Aunt Bea) Not sure how true that was.

I think that was very much true. I either saw an interview with Andy Griffith or read an interview by him. For some reason she had it out for him! Very hard to get along with.

Still... Seems like every small town has an Aunt Bea. we have one in the small town where I teach.

Her character was great! One of my favourite episodes where she is highlighted is the one where she tries to save money by buying meat in bulk, but the old freezer ends up breaking and it's the middle of summer. She won't call the repair guy to come out and fix it. Andy keeps telling her: "Call the MAN!"

I think the best TV theme song ever is the original Hawaii 5-0.

The best orchestration during the episode would be on the X-Files.
