In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
sub rosa; nounc
confidentially; secretly; privately.
Etymology: 1920–25; < Latin sub rosā literally, under the rose, from the ancient use of the rose at meetings as a symbol of the sworn confidence of the participants
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

The “Tin-Foil-Hat” League’s claims of a sub-rosa evil plot to disarm law-abiding Americans doesn’t seem so weird after all.

Patriots who led a formerly sub rosa existence, are now stepping out of the shadows and making their voices heard.
Good morning. Remember the “campus shooting” in North Houston last week? Turns out the targeted victim “bumped into” the thug earlier in the day - he and a buddy teamed up - not sure where the gun came from or if it was in a car or already in a backpack - but there were TWO guys involved in the shooting. And whoever actually did the shooting shot his own partner! lol Both are in custody...so watch out who you bump into!
It was heartbreaking. Just around the bend in the road the trucks lined the roadway...
...they went on forever. The trucks lined both sides of the road and all the fireman were saluting us the entire way.
...I was somewhere towards the end of the line following the casket. There was something eerie and sad about seeing his jacket hanging right where he left it when he started his last call.

An amusing side story...the state sent a command center and a number of state personnel. They picked across the street from us to stage the command...directly across from my next door neighbor. I was chatting with them last night at the station. I asked them HOW did they end up setting up right directly across from our strangest anti-social neighbor. They laughed and said that they figured out they found the squirrel-eist one in the ‘hood within the first hour.
