I freeped... thanks Dynachrome! I find the question interesting.. as if faith is intertwined with an organized religion? Faith in the Lord is so separate from belonging to a Church IMHO. A person can lose trust in a church but still have faith in God. Some of the most nasty, rotten acting people I know sit in the front row every Sunday... and some of the most God loving, fearing, Christian people I know, do not attend a church or go infrequently. Just my two cents...

Our faith is to be lived out in community with the church and the residential community we live in. But religion has left a lot of people less than excited about their faith. Religion is often tied to empty ritual. The faith I live out is based in Christ, His death and resurrection, and the redemption we have in his shed blood. It is not a set of laws I dare not disobey, but try to obey in love and for the love of the One who gave His life. That makes all the difference.

We are all still sinners saved by grace. However, there are some who have been placed in places of trust who have no business being there. They have not given their lives to Christ, and instead do great harm for the sake of Christ. These people should be disciplined by the church, and moved out from positions of responsibility. Some of these priests are not saved by grace, as they have never given their lives to Christ in the first place. They have trained to be in the ministry because it seemed noble, or whatever.

Their acts do not effect my relationship with Christ, but they do grieve me and I feel grieved for those who suffered because of them. God did not put undeserving people in those places. Other men did...those who felt that the person was qualified either because he’d gone through all the necessary steps or because they know someone.

Yes, stronger. I am a Catholic who happens to believe that sodomites and pedophiles were deliberately recruited in order to destroy the Catholic Church from within. It is satan’s work.

I agree with you and I’m not even Catholic.

Mainline Protestant denominations have been targeted similarly.

I’ll go further and say that it was and is a political act.

Strong Christian faith in God and the US Constitution founded upon it are a major impediment to leftist plans, and are under deliberate siege. It’s been going on at least since the sixties.

I haven’t had faith in religion since I left the Mormon cult.

My faith in Christ is very strong though(no, I’m not Catholic despite my tagline).

Maybe not a poll, but there have been SEVERAL cases and some lawsuits against LDS Inc involving sexual abuse in the Mormon church.

More so than Christian churches. Mormons do not have clean hands when it comes to sex abuse scandals - not by a long shot (and I can source this).

I have no faith in “religion”. My faith is in God.

FReeped it as “yes” anyway, because I’m pretty sure that’s what they mean; having no faith themselves, they don’t know how it works.

The latest count is that 231 died here. Brazil has declared a month of official mourning.

That same day about 3,300 died in the USA from CHOICE.
Hardly anyone is in mourning.

Ok; I'll answer the dumb question: NO!

However; my faith in Christ and His finished work is as strong as ever!

It appears that our OWN little ‘poll’ in this thread is all in favor of Jesus - not so much with ‘religion’!

What a stupid question.

My belief in an all-powerful God is not related to the short-comings of man.
