I like Clint, and he gives good speeches. Sean seems to at least have a spine, as well. I liked Private Ryan the movie but Hanks is Hollywood.
The golden age was the golden age. Even then there was considerable influence that I didn’t like. Some of it I take with a grain of salt cuz the movie was so good.
So many good ones, Mrs. Miniver, stuff with Claude Rains, Cary Grant, etc., etc. Nothing comes close today, it’s all so base, banal, IMHO.

And don't forget Robert Mitchum. "Mr. Film Noir'' himself. That guy just had to stand there and you knew something bad was going to happen.
